Hey Liz, from what I've heard, it's too windy there on the beach to do the aisle lined with rose petals. I was just going to have my flower girls drop them, and the photographer should be able to get some good pictures before the blow away!

I see that you did have the symbolic ceremony. Do I have to let my wedding planner know that I want that ceremony instead? I really want to cut out all the extra things as well, such as the blood work and the license translated. Your right TinaM2B we aren't excited about them knowing everything.

I don't mean to sound weird but what exactly are you afraid of them "knowing?" They still see your passport and your legal marriage license which basically contains all of the same information as what your birth certificate has, which is the only additional paperwork (unless you've been married before then you need a divorce decree). I guess I just don't see what they won't know for a symbolic ceremony that they would for a legal one, KWIM?

I LOVE this forum. I just don't know how to use it. I haven't been able to do much but read what other folks are saying. I hope this goes to the forum and not just replying to one message. Oh well. I'm getting married Moon Palace, Chapel Gazebo 5pm cocktail hour chapel garden, reception in ballroom. Has anyone had Angelica as a WC?? Haven't had a email response from her in a week and a half and wondering should I reach out to a manager or will my wedding me sabotaged if I do?? Ahhhhh breath! Namistay

To answer the earlier question, the Moon Palace is about 10-15 minutes away from the airport - not long AT ALL!

Also we had our marriage certificate translated at the resort and it was $45 (i think) but totally worth it!!

Hey Namistay! Welcome to the forum! YAY! You're getting married one week after me!!! You must be getting really excited!! Don't worry, you posted right!

How many times have you emailed Angelica in the past week and a half? I would try emailing her again....or, you could always call! I've done that before too.

And I wouldn't think you're wedding would be sabotaged if you ended up contacting a manager - I had to because my WC didn't respond to me for 3 MONTHS. I'm working with a different WC now, which is much better, and I don't think anything is getting sabotaged!

Cancun09, Welcome to the forum!! You are posting correctly!

Morgan, Thanks for the information and Congrats on your marriage! We would love to hear about it and see photos. What time of day did you get married?

Lizlett, That is the first time I have heard of a TA trying to talk someone out of MP. I will bet it is as another poster said, she may be confused with another place. Everything about MP we have heard, especially dealing with weddings, is awesome. AND it isn't as far as that TA stated.

Drtracy, Both me and my FI have been married before so we would have to supply divorce decrees which have a lot more information in them like social security numbers and other information. When getting legally married in Mexico, don't you also supply things like birth cert. which has parents info and other things? We happen to know people who have had their identities stolen in Mexico so we are just being a little paranoid...

It was definitely a strange conversation with the TA and I just wanted off the phone. It was the MP she was talking to me about and then trying to talk me into Adventura Palace. I mean WHAT was that all abouthuh.gif I think she had a screw loose! I am in the process of trying to work with Tammy! I am not having a freak out day today I am having an excited day!!! By the way I have been wanted to tell the brides that have already been married at MP it is so reassuring to hear from you and so nice of you to take the time to share now that your wedding is complete! Oh and one more thing you can just call me Liz my user name is a combo of things and I dont know how to change it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
