Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Below is the link to our professional wedding photos by David Pena. My only complaint was that we had our family photo session at 5pm and the way he had us positioned was looking at the sun as it was setting so we are squinting in all of the photos - they are all garbage due to the squinting. Be aware of this factor if you get into this situation and recommend that he use a different angle.

Camie, my goodness, those are awesome. Even though you thought some of the poses were cheesy, they are artistic! I loved many of them but the ones of your hands and you guys sitting in the sand (6329, 6345, 6361 & 6350 ) were absolutely amazing.

Hey ladies! I just wanted to share some uplifting information relating to the swine flu. We had some guests back out due to the scare and therefore did not reach our 10 rooms required for the complimentary private cocktail reception. I emailed my WC Rosy Lily about this and asked if it was possible to still receive this. Just heard back from her and she said YES, she will be able to provide us with this!!! This is a huge relief for us and also a reminder that it never hurts to ask!! Take that swine flu...

Congrats on the good new!

More GOOD news all!! CDC lifted the Swine Flu travel recommendations to Mexico..... although I felt it was blown out of proportion by the media. Hopefully, it is smooth sailing till July now.

There are several of us getting married the first two weeks of July..... Anyone going to be there before then?? I looked back several pages for any late May or June dates and couldn't find anyone.

July Brides, it is almost our turn!! Are you ready?? What are you to-dos that are left to be done? I am only down to a few items. One thing left is to find my sand ceremony items and everyone is out of what I want.

I know...it does seem like a lot of us are getting married in July! It's coming right up! We have all our stuff - right now we are just finalizing vows, the ceremony wording, the sand ceremony wording, and we're STILL trying to decide if we're going to have an AHR. We're also working on picking music. Trying to decide if we're going to have a formal reception in Mexico or not....*sigh* so much to decide. I think I'm going to add hangover kits to our OOTs!

Still haven't heard back from Kalena - I think it's been a week. NOT. Happy.

I really like the fact that the chapel has the water surrounding it and the pews, but my FI does NOT do well with heat!! Our wedding is 5:00 August 1st so the summer sun will be hitting it all day. He is going with the Mexico wedding since it's what I want, but I'm starting to rethink the chapel due to the heat factor. I had e-mailed asking to be switched, but now I'm not sure.. Hmmmhuh.gif

As of right now we are looking at around 15 guests, so we are going to be a small group. I'm starting to try to think of how I want to schedule the day. I'm thinking wedding at 5:00, followed by pictures, cocktail hour (or two!) and then just the included dinner from the package. We are staying 10 days ourselves so I am anticipating the free cocktail hour. During our original planning I was thinking of a private reception, but I have convinced myself otherwise since we are having a formal AHR Aug. 28th. Any suggestions for the location of the dinner for 15 guests? I would like to avoid buffets as I would feel silly walking up to a buffet in my wedding dress! However, as mentioned about my FI does NOT do well with heat so AC is basically a must.

Tina - I also asked for David Pena and they said the same thing. I'm hoping that it isn't a problem once we get there. I'm not sure whether or not you would be able to do the pay by the hour thing.

Time needs to slow down a bit!!!
look into the caribeno restaurant on the grand side. The restaurant is a seafood style restaurant but they have really good prime rib as well. nice view looks elegant and also indoors and has ac. You can't go wrong with this restaurant.

Camie - Thanks so much for posting your pictures! The beach ones are absolutely beautiful! I am not much of a posing person and my FI absolutely hates getting his picture taken so these sessions should be interesting!

Quick question - I really like the ones of you two sitting on the sand together. Did the sand get all over your dress? I definitely want to take pictures on the beach since we are on board with the whole destination wedding thing, but I am super nervous about ruining my dress! I am wearing it again at my AHR.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
