Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Eureka, those spanish books that were talked about are called "Spanish for Dummies" and they have english-spanish phrases in them.

Here is what they look like (I had them in my OOT bags too) and everyone loved them! This is my sis and her husband.

Hi Leogurl,

I am working directly with the Moon Palace. They usually respond between 24 to 48 hours and you don't have a middleman. The pricing I got is in the range that you mentioned. The only thing they require is your room's deposit for 3 nights.

Hey Eureaka! Those are the same books I got! They were in the dollar section at Target! I know there is a link somewhere in this forum to a place where you can print off spanish phrases for free though - maybe in the OOT section? I would do a search!

Any suggestions for a thanksgiving wedding in the moon palace? Weather, fun facts, what to do, what not to do, brochures, best travel agents to and from, best destination wedding dresses, hair dresser, restaurants to try, etc...

Also, I see that the Moon Palace has changed their packages. Does anyone know if this applies to people that already signed a wedding contract or to people who are going to be signing a contract. My TA has not had me commit to any package we just signed the wedding contract and this makes me nervous.

Thanks
Hey Leanna-

Hey-

I was told by my TA that we do need to get an Apostille Document, so we went ahead and got the document. It was really easy; we sent an application along with birth certificate to the state where it was issued and they sent the Apostille Document back a few days later.

I used the TA banner up top of BDW, and one of the TA's from this website gave her my information, so I assumed she's good. After she made her first contact, she wasn't in touch with me again for over a week, which wasn't a big deal since I hadn't figured out what I was doing, and I just figured I'd have to find a different TA since she didn't respond to my e-mails. Well then she finally did contact me and apologized that she'd been out of the office for a week. So time goes by, she's been great with e-mail with correspondence, and we decide on MP. She tells me she'll confirm our wedding date with MP. And then I don't hear from her for two weeks. So I got frustrated and called her on a Monday. She thanked me for being patient, hadn't confirmed my wedding date yet, and said she'd been out for a week because of family issues. She did say she'd contact me within the next couple days. Never heard from her and another week went by. I e-mailed her again. Another week has gone by with nothing. Before when I e-mailed her, she'd respond within 24 hours, so I assumed this was a great way of communicating. I am frustrated because at this point, I don't know if our wedding date has been confirmed even though I told her over a month ago which day & time we want. I'm a pretty laid back person and do understand having family emergencies, etc., but I have never used a TA before and have no idea if this is normal. She has assured me though that we'll be able to get group rates between $350-$400 per room, so I do not want to have to search for another TA and possibly start all over again finding a resort that my guests can afford. Any suggestions? I do plan to call her again Tuesday evening if I don't get a response.

Leogurl...I am using a TA, All Inclusive Reservations, and this lady is totally awesome! My family has used her as well, If you'd like to contact someone else, [email protected]. However, I was never advised to work with the TA for the wedding stuff, two different companies. TA couldn't possibly be on top of the resorts wedding functions. I was assigned a wedding coordinator at the resort to work out those details, I would advise you contact the resort directly re: your wedding. smile03.gif

Hey Leogurl! Regarding your TA - I'm sorry you're so frustrated!

When I was getting ready to do all this stuff, I was really unsure if I wanted to go with a TA or not, so I went ahead and booked my wedding date and time through the MP on my own, before I got a TA. If you're concerned about not getting your date and time, I would go ahead and contact the MP to confirm that on your own. Then, you and your TA can work out the details of a group contract, since your wedding is over a year away and is probably less pressing at this point.

I would also talk with your TA about your expectations regarding communication. Maybe it's just an discrepancy in what you're both expecting out of the relationship that can be easily cleared up with a quick chat. If it turns out you have mismatched styles, you'll know you'll need to find a new TA that would suit you better.

That's what I think anyways! Good luck!!

It depends on YOUR individual church I believe. Our priest had to get permission from the bishop in our diocese for us to be married at the Catholic Chapel. Once that was finished, we still did all of our pre-cana stuff and then that had to be sent to the priest that was marrying us. It all worked out perfect for us.....the justice of the peace did his part first, (the legal part) and then our priest took over with the blessing of our marriage for the catholic part.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
