Also, thanks for the information on the tours, our contract says they are free if you book 3 nights, but then I had an email from the tour guide at Moon palace telling me the swim with the dolphins was buy one for $129 get the other one free, but in my contract it says you get two free per room. So I hope they don't have trouble once they check in. Anyway, thanks for your help.

I have a question about the alcoholic drinks at the reception, is it top shelf? or just wine, I'm freaking out my wedding is in about two weeks, and I just realized Im not sure what the bar drinks are... or if i have to pay extra. I'm having a private reception so was wondering if they set up a little bar or what.
Thanks!! The cake was $40 and purchased at MP - You have 2 choices of cakes - one is smaller and serves less people (the one that I chose) and the other one is huge and I think it was $200 anyways they let you choose the shape (round, square, heart) and I asked if I could have starfish and shells on it - My WC said sure, and there was no extra charge - I was super excited about it!

I was SO impressed with the bar at our cocktail function, we got the free cocktail hour which we used as our dinner/reception b/c Our wedding was later in the day - there was tons of food by the way, and they set up our own private bar with every kind of liquor you can imagine, honestly I can't remember if it was top shelf, but we had waiters/waitresses going around asking guests if they wanted another drink, as well as 2 bartenders at the little bar the whole time! And it was private, only for my guests!! I was so impressed by that!!!

Also, FYI we had no trouble at all at the Cancun airport, there were people there and some asked us if we needed rides, etc, but we just smiled and said "no thanks, we know exactly where we are going" which we did!! Just bring all your transfer docs with you and make sure you KNOW the name of your transfer company so you know which van/car to look for when you get outside the airport!

I have a question for you all as well, concerning TAs.

I have contacted Tammy Host and I am waiting to hear back... has anyone tried booking through AAA? I was wondering how their prices are in comparision. I had booked our two last trips to the palace resorts through them and got really good hotel/flight packages.

rockon.gifBetsy your pics were beautiful. You know some times I think people for get that destination weddings can sometimes be simplistic and relaxed.

I think your pic showed just that, You pics weren't

over done,I feel the MP photo person punk.gif rocked.

It's not" A NEW YORK WEDDING"

so I don't think all that extra out side photo drama is ness. You have confirmed

my decision. PLEASE if you can tell me who your pics were done by I would be very greatful.

Thank You Katt

Hey Nina, Ok I have to admit, I check this thread out from time to time, to see how your planning is going. :-) Ok I tried to see if I could find a cake topper for you, cause you know how Boston crazy I'am. Anyway, I found this site, and they do custom work. Maybe you could contact them to see if they can do a cake topper for you?

Hi everyone. It's official... I'm also experiencing what many of you have shared.. number of people going to the wedding dropping. sad.gif Yesterday one of my very good friends shared that he is not sure whether or not he will be able to go now due to $$$. While I KNOW I can't "expect" people to come, it's still a sad thought. I am trying to contact people and share that air costs have recently dropped dramatically!! Unfortunately our airfare was booked when it was high....but since it's $200 cheaper per person right now I'm hoping it may help some who were "on the fence" to join us.

In addition to that, I have sent 3 e-mails to my On-Site WC and have heard nothing back! Grrrr. Marlyn told me to inform her if I didn't hear back soon. I don't want to be a pain, but I have some questions that I would like answered! I guess I'll e-mail back and share. I was thinking of seeing if I could be switched to Nancy as I've read numerous fabulous things about her on here.

On a positive note, my dress shipped last Saturday and we have the date set for our AHR here in PA. It's all about positive thinking, righthuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
