Also, we plan to do all our activities at the resort, so this would also leave people out unless they are planning to pay the day pass every day. So, I'm planning to write a little blurb with bullets about reasons to stay at MP. I was hoping I could get some help with this from ya'll so I can add some specific reasons. Thanks.
I would let them know they do have to pay extra for a day pass - It is $55 upt to $75/day. You might want to show prices for taxi's/transportation around MX too because once you factor in the day pass plus transportation to the Moon Palace will they really be saving a TON of money? Not to mention the hassle/time. Also let them know how important to you it is to all be together, AND do you have the organized excursion booked/set up? I know when we went people who booked 4 or more days were eligible for the "Palace Passport" which gave them free excursions, that could be a selling point as well. Good Luck, I hope they all stay at the MP!

I agree with Betsy... we are having the same issue with people wanting to stay at another resort.

It really isn't worth it when they figure in the transportation and the day pass. We are recommending that folks stay 3-4 days at the resort and then go somewhere else (like their timeshare) if they want something "cheaper"

Also, I just got an email saying that they can only enter the MP wiht a day pass 1 hour prior to the start of wedding functions, and must leave right when they end. I am upset becuase part of our "wedding" will be laying by the pool all day together, then the ceremony, etc. Also since our reception is outside we must end it by 10, i was planning on everyone going to the disco afterwards, so I hope this doesnt mean my day pass guests will be kicked out... i'm actually pretty upset by these ridiculous "day" pass restrictions.

BTW its 84 dollars these days...

jlwedding-

sorry for the delay, but I know that our friends who are shooting our wedding are starting to include actual wedding package prices along with their destination expenses but they might work something out...

another idea would be us! :) I don't know if you caught that we are wedding photographers too...but after we get married in august we are going to be marketing ourselves much more toward destination weddings...

we recently saw that another photographer posted an offer to the BDW brides to shoot a number of destination weddings for free with expenses covered...so we might do something like this...i don't know if other brides would be excited for something like this, but if we didn't have friends in the industry, it would be a dream come true for me! photography is just too important to me to not make sure that we have great pictures that tell our story and we love forever...also aric and i have been talking about how we can best give back to the BDW brides, so the thought of doing something like this came up, and we know we'd get some beautiful pics out of it...but i don't know i guess we will see...

for us photography was obviously the first priority, and unfortunately, we also felt the pain of trying to find a good photographer to document our destination wedding...most "good" ones that are marketing themselves for destination weddings are too expensive and we have read some resort photographers are leaving many couples with a wish that they had hired someone else...thus we were really worried when we started planning our wedding... we were lucky because we have friends in the industry that are willing to help in the situation but not all couples have someone like that...

anyway, we will see...but let us know if we can help you ourselves or maybe help you find someone :)

--->what is everyone doing for flowers? is anyone doing something other than the onsite flowers?? this is driving me crazy!!

Please post any information about what your hearing about the day pass rules. That has me concerned because some of our guests have a place on Isla and will be coming over for the wedding and activities. I thought the day pass was just that. It allowed them to come in for the day and enjoy all the amenities.

TinaM2b,

my TA advised that I let guest know that Moon Palace can limit day passes to 20% of the total number of guests staying on property when their occupancy is high. So basically, there is no guarantee that day passes will be available.

I loved my bouquet too - just what I asked for.

I am in the middle of getting my pics organized - I am sending a mailing to my guests that includes a cd & pre-paid envelope to have them send me their photos taken during the trip. As well, our professional photographers are currently working on our pics!!!

Once all of this is a little better organized, I will be sending packages to our guest and be posting online.

Pics - I am all about the pictures - but once you get home you think you will have all of this time to get all of the fun post-wedding items started - but you are soo busy just relishing in the wonder of your wedding and family trip of a lifetime. Besides it is difficult to get back into the swing of things.

I will do my best ladies to speed things up - as I know being a bride how much we all want to see them to get an idea of our day.

Send me your email and I will attach some pics for you.

MP is amazing! Our Wedding was Magical!

Wishing you all the best

Laura

For the ladies who were already married at MP- did you have a tasting or just decide based on your preferences for the reception dinner? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to print menu cards if we may end up changing our minds later on or once we get there...what is everyone else planning on doing?

If you're into it and its within your budget, go for it! But, unless you're planning a formal sit-down event, I don't think menu cards are really necessary.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
