Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

jlwedding-

MP has a flaky policy about photographers as outside vendors but it is allowed according to the coordinators we've spoken with...they're just supposed to be staying at the resort as your guest...we are bringing a photographer friend of ours to our wedding and we are actually shooting a wedding up there for a couple in July so it is allowed

one idea might be looking around for a photographer that would shoot the wedding for free if you cover the cost of their expenses...this is what we are doing for our couple in July and many photographers who are great photographers but haven't shot many destination weddings are often open to this...just a thought...

I hear you, my wedding is on April 11, and leaving to CUN on April 7... we might run into each other he he. Anyway, I'm anxious and a little overwhelmed, but we will be fine :)

Oh! We'll just miss you. We're departing on April 5th.

Right now the biggest stress (at least with regard to the ceremony) is getting my dress altered. My mother is doing it, but it hasn't even been fitted yet. Other than that, its only minor things that can be wrapped up pretty easily.

Gosh! I can't believe you all are leaving so soon. I'm so jealous! I can't wait to hear your stories when you get back though!!!

jl - I looked around my local photogs to try to find someone to ask about DWs, but I just couldn't find anyone I liked! I ended up going with Misti Abner of Expressions by Misti - she's on the forum. I really like her work, and got her when she was doing DW photo packages for free, so all I'm paying is for her hotel and half her flight - I'm splitting time with another RM bride. Her photographer package is normally only around 500 though, so even if we didn't get her free, we probably would have booked her anyways.

I didn't mind the MP photogs - I just really wanted getting ready pictures, and lots of coverage at the reception without paying an arm and leg!

Hello Ladies Weddding Date ~ January 29, 2009

My Hubby & I had our welcome dinner at Arrecifes Terrace Restaurant - we loved it!

Set-up to perfection - our own wait staff - we felt like the only people there

We used our dinner from our Deluxe Wedding Package for this, as well as the photographer - we we had a Private Wedding function on Terrace Venado and had hired 2 outside photographers to attend 3 days of festivities.

Our wedding was truly magical ~ a wonderous trip of a lifetime!!!

Quick question for those brides who have had/are having an AHR. How are you handling invitations? I need to get out my invitations for the Mexico wedding ASAP, but not ready to send out the AHR ones. Is everyone having 2 formal invitation mailings? Originally we were just going to have a backyard BBQ type celebration since we are returning in August, but now it's looking like we are having a formal reception once we get back. Any help is appreciated! Thanks :)

Sucks I am going to miss you by a few days, anyway, I wish you the best of luck and look forward to hearing how your wedding went!

I just sent out our STD's, and a lot of our guests are shocked by the price of Moon Palace. Many people are saying that they'll go and stay at another resort, which would really defeat the purpose of picking MP so that we can have an organized excursion together. Also, we plan to do all our activities at the resort, so this would also leave people out unless they are planning to pay the day pass every day. So, I'm planning to write a little blurb with bullets about reasons to stay at MP. I was hoping I could get some help with this from ya'll so I can add some specific reasons. Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
