I will let you know what the cost is of the set up I want (the first picture of the last slide) when I hear back from my wc.

Ok, so my WC told me that the first picture of the slide for the beach set up, the one that has no flowers, the one that is just a huppa costs $150, I think it is a great deal!

Hi Moon Palace Brides,

I am really interested in the free tours that were provided inthe palace passport. Are their tours that you would reccomend and ones that you wouldn't? I am trying to take everyone as a group to two of the tours and want to pick the best options. Can you tell me the pro's and con's of the tours you went on?

Hi I am in the process of booking our wedding at Moon Palace April 2010 and the only thing that has me concerned about the resort is the beach? I have read posts and reviews that the beach is not the best... Any one have any information that may ease my mind? Other then the beach issue I am SO excited to get my wedding booked and my STD's out!!

Joy,

Good luck with your guests. Please post what you find out. We were told 25 for 3 nights or a total of 75 nights in your party. We have the 75 nights currently but have lost a couple rooms. The cutoff for our guests entering the block or canceling is the 2nd week of April, though.

Please post if your WC tells your there are any extra charges on your free events if you get them. I have wondered about this since many posts state they charge more for over 35 guests at an event or that they limit it to 35 guests.

And last but not least. Congrats on only one more month! It has gotta to be exciting for you!!

Hi everyone! Thanks to a snow day, I have finally accomplished my goal of reading through all of the amazing posts on this forum! I know you all have heard it before, but thank you so much for all of the input you share here! You have managed to answer questions that I didn't even know I had! smile123.gif

I will be getting married at Moon Palace on August 1, 2009 at 5:00. I know that as the time continues to get closer to the trip, I will be on here more and more!

Questions: I have seen in recent posts that the Apostille is no longer required. However, it says that a certified copy of the birth certificate is needed. Any idea what a "certified copy" is?

Thanks again!

Erika

Here is what she wrote:

Dear Miss Cindy:

Thank you for your message, As per new government disposition to get married for civil ceremony the documentation required is as follows:

bride and groom:
1) Passports
2) certified copy of your birth certificate ( as the offices keeps it and do not give it to you back , in case you only bring your original )
3) blood test
4) tourist ID form you get upon arrival at Cancun airport.

if divorced: the name for the marriage license appears as on passport shows.

if name changed the name on marriage certificate is as on this document

Please feel free to contact us for any further assistance.

Kind Regards

I hope this clears some things up for a few MP brides. I know this will save some money too!!

Cheers!

Cindy et all,

Does anyone have any information on what documents you need at the Moon Palace if you have had a legal ceremony in the States?

We do not want to bring all this paperwork to another country if we can avoid it but do want our religious ceremony performed at the Moon Palace.

Congrats and nice snow day!

A certified copy is the one that you (or your parents) probably already have. It is really easy to get one and you should get a new certified copy as some places require a more recent one (my original is from the 70s so I got a new one). Just contact the Vital Records department in the state where you were born. You have to give them some information (e.g. your parent's name, the hospital, etc.) and it costs $5-$15 or so and they'll send you a new one. They say that it can take up to 3 weeks for it to get processed but I got mine in about a week.

Hope that helps.

I worked with Nancy to get the performance time down to 30 minutes for timing purposes.

We have the free reception too. I am still trying to get the 75 room nights though. I am not that far away, but i dont think I will make it =( it sucks cause if 2 of my family members didnt book with Orbitz and Expedia, we would make it for sure.

For the free private function, you actually only get 2 hours of the reception. anything beyond that is $60 per table, per hour. I confirmed this with my WC in Miami. Make sure you include the extra horus in your budget so you won't get any surprises.

We're getting the DJ too! Package 1 with the video slideshow.

Nancy and I were doing a lot of e-mail exchanges last week and she told me that she would be extremelt busy this week. I am not expecting an e-mail from her since she's probablt working on other brides right now.

Your day is almost here as well! Hang in there and best of luck =)

If you're that close, is it an option to just pay for the couple extra rooms?

I love the first beach option. Simple but so pretty! blush2.gif I am also going with that option for our wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
