He thinks he can just wear a pair of pants and a shirt he already has to wear to job interviews. God no. This is your damn wedding!

Sorry! I digressed....
LOL! You are too funny Marie! Unfortunately, Matt is NOT irritated about the spending! He loves the wedding planning and is just as gungho about the frills as I am. And speaking of his attire...ugh! Men's Wearhouse messed up our suit order for all the men, we had to cancel the entire thing. I was so upset! We found the perfect suits on sale for 150 each!! Now I figure I'll just wait until spring for the linen ones...*sigh* Good luck with your FI!!

Thank you!

Hey Jodi! I've never been to the Moon Palace, but from what I've read on this thread/heard from others, it's really not that bad. I guess they also do a really good job of cleaning it up once or twice a day! Maybe you could ask your WC if it's possible for them to clean your wedding area right before your ceremonyhuh.gif

If you subtract the hotel accomodations (which technically count for the honeymoon) we're still under our $5000 budget wink.gif Although I don't wish him to be a compulsive spender, I would like him to relax a little. I'm not one of those people that are looking at a wedding as a legitimate reason to go into debt, but I don't want a thrift shop wedding either. Call me selfish, but I want to have beautiful wedding photos that aren't run of the mill sitting on our mantle.

Well I think I've finally got through this entire thread... although I KNOW I won't remember everything! lol... Thanks so much ladies, you are all so wonderful and helpful!!!

I just submitted our contract a couple weeks ago for a 2:00 ceremony on 8-8-09 (although I really would have liked a later time, but everything else was booked up). Anyhoo, I am officially a Moon Palace bride now! YaY!

I must admit though that so far I have been a little disappointed with the people in Miami... my regular WC there, Janina, is great. But the Membership people have been IMPOSSIBLE! My future MIL has a Palace Resorts membership, so with this economy the way it is and everyone grumbling about cost already, I wanted to use her "deal" to make it as affordable as possible for everyone. Well,... I have been trying to contact someone there for weeks, to no avail. Then, when my FI finally got ahold of her last week, she promised to fax us some information. WHICH, of course, was never received. I have been calling/e-mailing her since, and still no response.

I feel (scratch that, KNOW) I'm a little behind in the planning already and reeeeally need to get the ball rolling with our reservations and such... so needless to say I'm a bit frustrated. If it's this hard for ME to contact her, how are our guests supposed to be able to book their roomshuh.gif <sigh> ... just had to vent a little...

Anyone know a Membership person they dealt with who actually picked up the phone/answered an e-mail... ?

Oh and Marie, if it makes you feel any better, my FI is a reeeeal penny-pincher, too. He absolutely balked at the receipt for my wedding dress (even though my parents wanted to pay for it as their contribution, so it didn't cost us anything!). Men,... :)

TinaM2b: Yes we had the system for 4 hours which cost us something like $350. (I think for 2 hours the price is $200) They gave us a dj to play our cds, which was nice I'm glad we didn't pay extra for the dj.
The price for the dj would have been $1100 for 4 hours and $750 for 2 hours. Something like that. I wouldn't spend the extra money.

Great Job!! I haven't even started mine. I hope you post when you finish. I would love to see what you put in them.

I did get my OOT bags done this weekend. I plan on posting pics on the OOT thread later today.

Hey girls...I haven't been on here in a while but with about 10 weeks to go, its time to get some final decisions taken care of.

I do have a big question though...we have been working with a temporary WC at MP, Maribel, until we are assigned our actual WC. We have reserved a time/location for a private reception but we are thinking of forgoing that and just using our reservations for our dinner reception at a restaurant. Do you know if they will allow us to cancel it without any questions, since we never signed anything saying we MUST do the private event?

Any advice would be appreciated. Those that have been married there...did you do a private reception or just use your reservations for your reception? With the money stuff...we are having a hard time with not spending more than we must.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
