Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to you recent brides! I am so excited that the months are going quickly but I think it will feel strange once it is done.

You gals are great! You put all my fears to ease with everything you talk about. Our big goal is to keep this as simple as possible and let the MP do what they do best. We purchased the deluxe package for this reason. We know we will have some extras but it is nice to hear that everything is so perfect in the end.

I do have a question. Did any of you take your own ipods and use their system? Can you tell us about their system. We have a portable Bose ipod station and was wondering if we could just use that. We are putting together all our play lists now and we also have several other friends (and my sons who are 19 and 21) that are doing the same. Do they set up big speakers everywhere? Do you recommend it?

Thanks again for letting us know how positive everything is!!

Another couple questions.....

Did anyone qualify for the free unlimited private functions? We have a lot of guests and it is looking like we are going to qualify for this (we have to maintain 25 rooms for three nights or total of 75 room nights). My biggest concern is we will have to pay extra for over 35 people at a function even though we qualified for unlimited functions. If we get this we want to have a function a day or night starting on Thursday with a reception and dinner on Saturday.

I just went through the MP's website and started going through the booking process for our same week and its turning up with about $8 cheaper a night. I'm not going to sweat a total of $56. Because our guest list is so small, it was pointless to try for a contract (which didn't offer any kind of savings anyway). Everyone went their preferred ways which for most of my family was through Costco. I think they got off paying about $3800 for two people/7 nights including airfare from Reno, NV.
Right now expedia is showing $468/night.

I'm not going to stress about it. The damage is done. We're going to have an unforgettable time and it still 1/3 of the price than had we had the same caliber of wedding at home.

**** Just got word that my brother IS going to attend, yea!!!
Happy to hear your brother decided to attend! We are working with a travel agency that TammyHost referred us to. We requested an ocean view room and was told the only way to guarantee this view was to book the Concierge Level room. She quoted us at $58 more a night, $426 total a night, but it includes best view and location, two 25 min massages, nightly turndown service (?), pillow menu, aromatherapy, upgraded brand of liquors, exclusive concierge service, exclusive beach bag, and private check in/out. So excited!!!

We brought our ipod and that was it -they had the speakers, microphone, and everything else and it worked out perfect. I had already arranged the songs on my playlist to go in the order I wanted and it absolutely worked out perfectly!

Oh wow... your pictures are stunning! What a gorgeous dress. :)

Thank you thank you for posting pictures! I've been dying to see pictures from inside the chapel gazebo... and was curious where the horse and carriage dropped the bride off. I love the pictures of you and your dad walking across the bridge. :)

So you said 1st installment on photobucket... does that mean we get more gorgeousness? wink.gif

Miami told me that the round tables are the only ones that are "included" - but I've seen a couple brides on here with long tables. I have a beautiful long table design but I need to know if going forward with that design is going to cost me beaucoup when I get to the resort.

Most hotels offer both ... just curious what MP did.
Ashrose: We had a rectangular table for us. And four round tables set up for our guests. This is the way they set it up for us and was included. From what I understood the price $400 was per 10 guests and it didn't matter how many people were at each table. We had 28 guests, they set up four tables of 7 guests. I don't know about long tables but I don't see that being a problem. Hope this helps.

TinaM2Be: We used cds. But I think Ipod set up would be pretty much the same. They had a couple speakers and it sounded great.

HaleGrifa: Our wedding was on New Years Eve. We definitely miss it and wish we were back. All of our guests feel the same way. Thats so cool that you're going back for your 1 year anniversary. We want to go back eventually too. Just too many other places we want to see first. :)
GREAT PICTURES! You look beautiful!

Sarah

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
