Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Personally, I don't think it is necessary to purchase the extra lighting for the reception - we had our reception at the T bugambilia (sp) terrace in the middle of the resort and they had lamp posts - prettier but I don't know what else to call them - anyways it was definitly enough lighting for us - It is not pitch black or even really dark at all!

Also does anyone know if the day of the wedding counts as one of the three days we need to be there? We are getting married here and having a symbolic ceremony there but I still think we need to be there early. Is anyone doing this? We both need to get passports and I'm not sure whether to get one now or wait until May (we are just going to the courthouse to marry ourselves) and then get a passport with my new namehuh.gif?

Do you have a WC yet? They should be able to email you the pics of the cocktail receptions so you can choose one.

MsLeBlanc - I wouldn't wait until May to apply for your passports if your wedding is in July - last I heard, it was taking three plus months for passport applications to go through! I'm pushing my family and friends to apply now and my wedding is also in July.

When I got my passport last year, it took two months, and then when I got it, my name was spelled wrong and I had to send it back. I know if you get married, they have a form you can fill out to get your passport changed, which might be quicker than doing the whole passport process. Or, you could wait until you get back in July to change your name!

Good luck!

nibsmom - I'm going to my local MAC store and seeing if they can't point me in the right direction. Do you have MAC or Sephora? The girls there are usually pretty good at helping with make-up for your skin type. Have you tried mineral makeup?? It's so great!! It's light and powder only, no cakey foundation! My friend also has extra sensitive skin and she uses it and loves it. It's has such amazing coverage. It evens out my skin on those blotchy days! I'm just worried about my eyes.. I bought all new brushes and now I have to learn how to use them LOL!

Good Luck ladies, I'm sure you will look beautiful :)
Yeah, they are just building a sephora near me, so maybe it will be up soon! I have no idea when it's opening. Otherwise, I'm sure the Aveda salon I usually go to will be just fine. I NEVER wear make up, so I should go soon - I have a lot of learning to do!

Thanks for the advice! I will just get a passport now and change my name when we get back from the wedding. That sucks that it takes so long...I will need to start pushing my family and friends to get them as well!!

We just applied for our passports mid-November and had them in hand within 3 weeks, without any kind of rush delivery. The huge rush and backlog for everyone to get their's is over. I would get it done now, just in case something should arise, but its not going to take six months like it was in 2005/2006. The gal at our county clerk office stated that if you get married and change your name, you can file a name change free of charge.

Hello ladies,

I am new here - and we are confirmed at MP on November 28th - I think I saw someone else is that day, too? We are at 4pm! Anyhow, we are going to MP in a couple weeks for a preview trip... what are some things we should do during that time? Any recommendations or things we should get out of the way? Our wedding is not until November - so we may need to go again once it gets closer - any thoughts? We have an appointment with the wedding coordinator on Monday afternoon, but that is about it.

Thanks!!

Jen

So I think I have narrowed it down, and I am 75% sure I will be planning my wedding at the Moon Palace resorts. I was hoping that people could share with me why they've chosen Moon Palace. I know that many have probably shared already, but there's over 100 pages to search through in this thread, and I'd really like to get some feedback from people who will be getting married there soon. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
