Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

i made sooo many attempts to call Palace Resorts to get a sample of the videography from the resort. i even went as far as talking directly to Moon Palace's Photo and Video department. unfortunately, they don't have videos to share right now.

what the lady told me was that u choose your videographer when u meet with your WC the day after you arrive at the resort. they have 2 videographers to choose from and will have samples of the videos they have done.

i am sooo nervous about the videography myself. i've been searching this site for videography reviews and hopefully samples from other brides' weddings.

i hope someone will post their videography from moon palace soon. that way we all could see what the resort video photog could do.

Just to clarify - Moon Palace does let you bring in an outside photographer if you pay to have them stay overnight, right? I know I've heard of other brides getting around that policy somehow.

I just got kind of a rude email back from a photographer saying there was no way to do it, and didn't I check into that? LOL. So now I want to double check...

I'm beginning to think that maybe I should go with the resort photographer for the ceremony, and then hire someone *really* excellent for a trash the dress after we get to our honeymoon location - Excellence Cancun.

However, I know FH really wants to have pictures of the getting ready and all that...and I feel like MP photographers only do the ceremony and pictures afterwards...anyone have any input on that?

I know, I hear ya. Have you gotten confirmation from your WC that you can have an outside photographer? Photos are very important to me too...I agree with the stress. I think it's ALL I've been doing for the past like, three days.

I haven't heard/looked at either Del Sol or Cecilia Dumas though...probably worth checking out if Elizabeth gave you her name though...she probably has a similar style.

Since we were in Mexico, I really wanted mariachis... so I had them come in at the beginning of my reception (not during the cocktail hour).

As far as hearing the music, you are on the aisle/walkway for such a short amount of time (even shorter in the other gazebos) and there is so much going through your mind that I am not sure how loud the music was. I vaguely remembering hearing something, but I can't really say how loud it was. I really don't think it is a big deal because everything happens so fast... Inside the gazebo, the volume was not an issue.
I know that in the information I got they said to pick four songs for the CD player. We aren't planning on having the cake cutting there, or having a sand ceremony, so would I just pick one for the processional, one for the bridal entrance, and then a recessional song? How long were people waiting in the gazebo before you got there? I would like to have some music playing for people while they are sitting and waiting for us to arrive, but I'm not sure if that's an option. Did you have champagne at the gazebo after the wedding? Is there any music playing for that? I would pose these questions to my wedding coordinator but I STILL don't have one assigned, and I'm less than two months away now!

Sunnybride - that's so frustrating that you don't have a WC. I have one assigned, but I've emailed her several times in the past THREE WEEKS, and I've gotten NO response. I'm calling tomorrow. Friday I sent her an email saying that if she didn't respond by Monday that I was going to call. Maybe she's not getting my emails for whatever reason...but if she's just not responding that's unacceptable to me.

I have no idea about the music though...one of the questions I sent to my WC three weeks ago...

Joy - how long did it take del sol to get back to you? I sent them an inquiry last week and got an email stating they were out of the office a lot and would try to get back to me in 3 to 5 days...

I wanted Elizabeth Medina as well and she was booked for my wedding, but it ended up working out because my first choice which was Del Sol photography was available. I had contacted cecilia and she never e-mailed me back. It is my understanding that cecilia costs less, but I think Del Sol and Elizabeth's pictures are better. Juan Carlos Tapia is also a great photographer but he is VERY expensive, even more so than Del Sol.

Yes you can bring an outside photographer as long as they are your guest (i.e. staying there or if you pay their day and night pass)

Hope this helps!

Hi there

I am thinking of using Lidya Solemidt as my wedding and TTD photographer. Her pictures look very nice and her packages are affordable. Her website address is Home Lidya Solemidt Photographer

Has anyone her of her before? I found her on this site some where.

I am now thinking of using the resort photographer for my welcome dinner.

Whats everyone else doing?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
