Thats not what the attachment said that I have seen about standard decor on here or that I have been sent by other Moon Palace brides on here.

I find it very strange because it had white, sky blue. green and hot pink as standard colours.

Everything I've seen has stated that white is the only standard color of table linens. If you desire a color, which are available, you'll pay an obscene amount (like $16 per table cloth extra) on top of the cost of the event. In the event that they aren't doing the colors anymore, you can always play up the white linens with vibrant pink centerpieces and maybe a table runner.

I try to avoid throwing the forum in their face. If I'm making a specific request, I tell them that a friend or acquaintance of mine who is also getting married there shared the information that she was provided. The trouble with trying to nail down specific details (ie color of linens) over eight months out is that prices and policies could very well change.
Actually requesting a specific color of linen can be decided at your sit down appointment when you get there. At this point, request a price list directly from your WC and go from there. Print it and bring it along with you when you go.

As far as the photographer goes, you'll have to speak directly to Mario, the head of photography. I sent an email to my WC in Cancun and even tried calling and they won't reserve it from 5 months out. The WC did respond to the email stating that she will have Mario contact me. I'm still waiting on that. At this point, if they can't reserve certain things for you, request that they put a note in your file regarding the request.

Hi,

Nancy is my WC too and I can't get in touch with her either and my date is only 1 1/2 months away too. We don't have anything arranged! I'm starting to freak out. If I don't reach her today I'm going to demand another WC.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I was given a couple of email addresses for two contacts at the salon. They have both responded to my email and have offered to set up my hair/makeup appts for me. But I have yet to hear from Nancy... I've seriously emailed her everyday for the last two weeks. I've been reassured by several people on this forum that it will all work out being that they like to set up the majority of things once you're there in person. But I, like most of us, like to have everything planned and ready weeks if not months in advance. Please let me know if you hear anything and if you are able to request a new WC. I will probably have to do the same =( Here are those addresses in case you would like to contact them yourself..

how did you choose David Pina as the photographer? Do you have links to his site or samples of his photographs?
If you look on this page http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21569-108 second post down you will see an attachment for photo samples and on one or two of the samples it has Davids pena name. I like his pictures the best. I emailed Maribel and she she said she will put it down on my file.

If I hear anything from Mario or can manage to get a hold of his email address, I will send it to you.

I do agree on David Pena's style, and I would like to have him photograph ours (the expense of flying someone down or paying to have someone stay at the resort as a guest is beyond our budget). His work appears more polished and almost has an artsy kinda feel. The other samples kinda gave me the impression of the same kind of quality of photos that you would get from a family portrait at Sears. They're nice and all, but they don't insight any kind of emotion.

I have to agree with you on that one. As soon as i looked at all the samples his work made me say wow. To me the other samples did'nt impresses me, they looked like amature pictures. Hopefully we can all have him (LOL)

Hi HaleGrifa!

We were planning on asking for the Tucan Gazebo for the ceremony, but I haven't decided about locations for the cocktail hour and reception. I read someone earlier quote that I think there is a balcony or terrace by the Italian restaurant overlooking the infinity pool that is supposed to be really nice for a cocktail hour, so maybe there? I've been asking Marlyn for a wedding coordinator (we're within the three months now!) and I still don't have one. Did you do anything differently to get yours?

Are you planning on organizing many activities for your guests? I was hoping to get a schedule of the theme shows that are on nightly and see if we could book a bunch of seats for one of them...has anyone tried that? Do you know if there is a printed schedule of the theme shows anywhere? When I get a WC, I'll ask them too!

I finally heard from Nancy three days ago! I hope you were able to get in contact with her... She did not explain why she hasn't responded but she did answer all of the questions that I had asked her for the past two weeks =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
