Recommended Posts

Hey girls, is anyone getting married May 11-15? I have 2 brides who are interested in splitting travel costs but there gap is too big between their weddings (5 days) I'm looking to do one more wedding inbetween there and figured I'd pass the message along to all you girls since my 2nd client is getting married at MP! I have a little more info on my blog as well if anyone is interested! Thanks again, I usually wouldn't post this but we're looking to split the travel! Thanks ladies!

Hi Myen

I am also a MP Bride getting married on January 29, 2009

We have decided to save ourselves the hassel of bringing too much with us (as we already have enough) Therefore we will be purchasing the favour from the hotel - from what I see on the website we will probably select the candle starfish - but maybe when we get there we may see more of a selection and change the item them.

Best of Luck with your planning

Hi Ladies,

From what I've read so far, it looks as if everyone that has had their wedding at MP has brought their own music and plugged in their ipod/laptops into the music systems. Does anyone happen to know of any reviews where the couple has booked the resort DJ? We're looking into booking the full service DJ package ($1,150) but I was just wanting to know if anyone has had any experience with using them.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

On an another note, I've just booked Tammara of Tamm's Photography for our wedding!

Cheers,

Myen

Hello ladies - I'm a recent newbie - and the more I read this thread the more I'm becoming convinced that I want to have my wedding at Moon Palace.

Few questions which I haven't see asked yet...to be honest I gave up on page 48 :)

1. We'll be legally married already in MA a few weeks before DW at MP, and we don't want a religious ceremony - should I be still looking at weddings (symbolic) or a "vow renewal" package...?

2. My wedding party will be really small - myself and FI, my parents, and my sister with her hubby and 2 kids. We'll only book 3 rooms, will MP still treat us like a true wedding party?

3. About photography - I don't mind using the resort's photographer but I really don't want the photo-package - meaning - i don't want them to print any pictures at all because we'll be having a small reception when we come back so i want my wedding album to include both events... Is it possible to negotiate not having to pay for photo-package and getting something else instead?

Any advice much appreciated... Thank you!lookatme.gifbride.gif

For moderators - should this have spanned a new thread - just learning rules :)

Lenchika-

Welcome to the fun!

We too are having a legal ceremony in CA about a week prior to the the DW and have opted for the symbolic. The sales coordinator sent me a sample of the non-denominational minister's script, and quite frankly there was nothing non-denominational about it. I've constructed a complete overhaul of the script and the coordinator has submitted it to the minister for review and hopefully approval. If/when its approved, I can send a copy to you if you're interested.

From my understanding, the Moon Palace goes out of their way to be overly accommodating, regardless of the number of your guests. We're having maybe a dozen guests and I think we're going to forego reserving a block of rooms. Everyone that I know that will be attending will be booking their vacation through outside sources (Costco, Expedia, etc...) because its a bit cheaper plus its actually preferred if not everyone's rooms are within close proximity of ours. If you prefer otherwise, I would get in touch with your sales coordinator.

I hope that helps at least a little. Good Luck!

Marie - thanks!

That script would be much appreciated - honesly - I would have never even thought to ask about that :) We really want to leave religion out of it.

As far as rooms - after speaking with my mom today - I think we'll require either two rooms in total. Can that even be considered a "block" ?? smile36.gif

What are you doing for music ceremony? - I really want either a guitarist or a whole mariachi band - that just looks soooooooo awesomely cool :)

What about videographer - are you having one? I see you're 6 months away... Are you stressing at all?

I found gift bags at Target that say "Thank you for sharing our day with us" and then I am filling them with these cute magnets we had made up- they have a beach theme on them and they say, "Thank you for sharing this day with us, Vic and Missy, August 11, 2008"
I also added to the bag these homemade seashell ornaments that my friend's brother made! He is an artist, so they turned out pretty cool! I figured people could use them to hang on their christmas trees every year or they can be hung anywhere really, a sunroom or something would be cool! Then they will always have that little momentum to think of us and thr trip we all took together!
I also put in the bag, a photo album with sea shells on the front.
I found a deal at weddingchannel.com. I found fans on that site too for the women to have during the ceremony. They are really pretty!
So, I'm all set for that! What do you think?
Let me know what you girls are doing!!! I love to hear this stuff!!
I also looking into the moon palace... not sure yet but i am planning on looking threw the rest of these suggestions.

So I love the fan ideas I have been looking at some through theknot
I especially like the straw fans that come in colors!

I was also thinking about umbrellas .. they looked really pretty as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
