Hi ladies,

I have been MIA for awhile because my computer has been acting weird and wouldn't let me access the forum... also work has been crazy. (Hello, I'm getting married in 8 weeks, could we lay off the new projects, please?)

I am freaking out a little and have a couple of questions.

1) We decided on a plated dinner, and I just found out from Claudia yesterday that we can't have multiple choices. We need to pick one soup, salad and entree. I don't know what to pick!! If you had a plated dinner, please tell me what you chose! I want to pick something that most people will enjoy.

2) We are just doing the Catholic ceremony, so we have to get married in the U.S. first. If anyone else has done this, did you just go to the courthouse or something?

Thanks!! Everyone's pics and reviews from while I was gone are AMAZING!!

Thanks for the input! I think we are leaning towards the holidays. I am just worried about the extra expense and whether or not people will be able to make it during that time of year. We just don't want to be selfish.

I'm going to try to book the Ballroom Carey as I plan to hire a DJ (sound, lights and all) and I don't want to be restricted with the 10:00 curfew imposed on the outdoor terraces.

Have your RCI guests book their flights as yet? My family is hoping that a seat sale comes up between now and May. Right now its about $950 for a flight from Calgary to Cancun.
Our wedding is at 5 p.m. on Monday the 11th. You are more than welcome to swing by and check out the wedding. We are having the ceremony in the Tucan Gazebo...at least as of right now.

Our reception is in the gardens next to the gazebo. You are even more welcome to come by the reception and have a drink and dance a little!

The only RCI owners are my Future In Laws...and they used all their weeks they had saved up, 11, for all of our guests. They have already booked their tickets though, out of Portland Oregon.

You are Canadian? one of our bridesmaids and one groomsman are both Canadian!

Send me a PM and I will forward it to you.

I am doing the beach set up thing as well.. How did you get the prices of the set ups? Did someone send you prices pictures of what they can do at all? I didnt know it would be so much more money. I wonder what like a $400 set up would look like, if it would look cheesy at all?

I received some information from MP about the pricing for the ceremony set up and such. I have a few documents I can share with you. If you want to send me a PM with your e-mail address I will send them over to you as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
