Good point about the carpet!!!! I don't know what we'll do, but red just doesn't work for us!!

... for the guests that are REALLY concerned with the costs...

I suggest they stay 3 nights at MP and then go find a bargin basement place elsewhere for after the wedding. I have a good majority of our guests that prefer it that way... especially those with timeshares, ect. They get to be a part of the wedding festivities... and then they get to have a vacation.

I'm still working on a cost comparison... I just got back from a surgery, so I had to put it on hold. I'll keep working on it and see what I can come up with in the next week.
Thanks Ash! I'm starting to make some major headway. I haven't sent out the invites as yet, but several family members who are RCI members have already booked the week of the wedding at the MP. One of my girlfriends that originally asked if she could stay at another resort and just come the day of the wedding is now opting to stay a the resort.

Ash, is there a 3-day requirement for guest to stay at the MP or can they stay for 1 night and go back to their resort the next day? I've left a message with my WC inquiring about it, but have not yet heard back.

Thanks

Thanks Rosie!

I dropped a line Marlyn Toben (sales coordinator out of Miami/my contact person at this point) for her input and to request a revision to our contract. 4:30 would probably be an ideal time, but I don't think they do that. If I get any new information worth sharing, I will definately post!

Hi...I haven't posted here before but I'm getting married at MP on Jan. 21, 2009 (just reserved the date today). My FI and I are going to be the only ones attending. For those of you who already married at MP, who took care of the music during the ceremony if you chose to use a CD? Obviously, my FI and I will be busy yet I still want my music playing at the appropriate times.

TIA!!!

Also, I'm thinking about a beach wedding (my FI isn't 100% sold on the gazebo) and was wondering about the cost of a simple setup...anyone check on it?

My FH and I have decided on MP afterall. We just haven't decided when. I am debating between December and May as I have to pick a time when school will not be in session. Does anyone have any feedback on MP around the Christmas holiday? I have only seen one review from that time frame. Anyone else have any feedback on the resort at that time of year? Thanks all!

The cost for the beach set up varies depending on what you want. For just the arch it is about $350 in 2009 and if you want all the flowers too it goes up to about $850. I think this has caused people to not do the beach set up since its a little pricy. I have some photos and info that the WC sent me if you would like to see them. Send me a PM and I will forward it to you.

Hey! Welcome to the board! I just wanted to say hi and let you know I will be getting married at MP on May 11th. What day are you arriving? If you are there by then you are more than welcome to attend our wedding to get an idea of what you should expect.

Also, I heard your guests were booking through RCI...we have booked 11 rooms through RCI so if you have any problems with it, let me know. I have some good contacts at the resort that work with RCI bookings.

Hi Jennifer,

We'll be arriving on May 10th. What time is your wedding at? Perhaps I'll swing by and watch from the distance as I wouldn't want to intrude. Do you know what your plans are for your reception? I'm going to try to book the Ballroom Carey as I plan to hire a DJ (sound, lights and all) and I don't want to be restricted with the 10:00 curfew imposed on the outdoor terraces.

Have your RCI guests book their flights as yet? My family is hoping that a seat sale comes up between now and May. Right now its about $950 for a flight from Calgary to Cancun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
