So what color scheme are you ladies using?

I was so set on sticking with my black, white, and green, but I think the black would be too stark and will not necessary flow with the setting.

Do you guys think steel gray would be too cold for the setting?

Hey girls -

I need your opinion!

We currently have our reservation set for 6pm. Do you believe this will be too late/too dark for decent beach photos? I would like to have sunset pictures, but the sun sets right around 6pm in April. The 5pm timeslot on the same day has already been reserved, however the 4pm is available the same day and a 5pm timeslot is available the day prior. What do I do? grouphug.gif

Hey Marie,

My wedding is at 5pm, and I am bringing my own photographer so I can take pictures before and after.

I think that if your wedding is at 6pm, you can take pictures before (I heard you can upgrade your package and have the resort photographer take those pictures, but I don't know, you should ask). I would probably change the wedding to 4pm... (although it would be hotter) just to be on the safe side in terms of getting more light for your pictures and make sure you get all the shots you want. But that is coming from someone that cares a lot about the pictures.

As far as the carpet, I read reviews that it can get very windy at the Moon Palace, so you have to bring a carpet that is heavy because I read some reviews where a girl took a linen carpet and even when they put flowers and mariachis on the carpet, the carpet would still move.

Hi Ladies,

Newbie here! Just wanted to introduce myself - my name is Janice. My FI and I are set to wed at the MP on May 14, 2009.

We've arranged for the Deluxe Symbolic Package several months ago. I just happened upon this website and spent the last two days reading all 87 pages of your posts. There is so much valuable info that so many of my questions have already been answered!

My original WC at the FL office was Elizabeth and thanks to you wonderful ladies, I found out that she was no longer there and called the office earlier today and discovered that my new WC is Marlyn. If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't have known otherwise.

Anyway, I am currently in the process of arranging for a group rate with my TA.

I've gotten a lot of feedback already from my family and friends that it's going to be too expensive, as it sounds like many of you ladies are getting. My friends and family are all too accustomed to last minute vacations at bargain basement prices, so the quotes I'm getting back seem outrageous to them. I've had far too many people ask me if they can still attend my wedding if they stay at another resort and I don't really know what to tell them as I would prefer that everyone stay at the MP, so needless to say the last week or so has been a little stressful.

So that's me and where I'm at in the wedding planning. Sorry for the long winded message. I can't wait to hear more about your special day and I can't wait to share mine.

Cheers

Hey Myen,

I tell my guests that inquire about other resorts that:

1. If they stay off the property, it will cost them about 100 dollars each to come to the wedding and the welcome dinner/entertainment.

2. The resort has a specific percentage of people that HAVE to stay on site for you to have your wedding there (I don't know exactly what it is... but I think it is 85%)... I tell my guests 90%.

... for the guests that are REALLY concerned with the costs...

I suggest they stay 3 nights at MP and then go find a bargin basement place elsewhere for after the wedding. I have a good majority of our guests that prefer it that way... especially those with timeshares, ect. They get to be a part of the wedding festivities... and then they get to have a vacation.

I'm still working on a cost comparison... I just got back from a surgery, so I had to put it on hold. I'll keep working on it and see what I can come up with in the next week.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
