I'm glad I didn't put too much effort into it because everything is pretty easy to negotiate once you arrive! :)
Sharla,
Who was your wedding coordinator again?

Is the WC the person who confirms your date? I have confirmed mine,

June 12th at 6pm. Im sooo excited!

I have been in touch with Elizabeth Stinson, but she does not respond to my emails??

I am looking for information about doing a room block. How soon does this need to be done? Who did you girls contact to get information?

Congrats!

You aren't alone in Elizabeth not responding... if you aren't getting the answers you want/need from Elizabeth, you can call her boss, Carolina Lopez. She is very nice and wants to make it right for you... when I talked to her two weeks ago I warned her that there was a forum where there were lots of brides not getting responses to their email in standard business best practice time (48 hours) or not getting responses at all. She was conerned, at that time, that so many of us were not getting the service we needed from the wedding reservation girls. I hate to get folks in trouble, but its not just one bride who is having problems, it seems to be more common than not. So the more we call and mention the forum, the quicker I believe, we will get the results we are seeking.

Here's her contact info:

Thank you so much!

Does Carolina have an email? I ask because im in California and they are in Florida right? Its a little easier with the time diff. to communicate by email.

Thanks!

I will be sure to take lots of pictures and let you know how the construction is going.
Happy Planning!

Hey Melissa...we booked through RCI as well and I would love to hear how it is going for you. Our wedding isn't until May 2009 so we still have a ways to go. Were you able to get any perks thrown in for you since you didn't book directly through the resort? How many rooms did you book?Or do you have a contact with RCI that works directly with the resort? How were you able to find out where your rooms are booked at? (SO SORRY for all the questions! I just got really excited)

We would love for us to be on the Grand Moon side and the rest of our guests on the Nizuc side too.

Any RCI info you have to offer, would be greatly appreciated. You are the only person I have heard that booked this way too!

is anyone else getting married in the afternoon? i'm pretty disappointed about my 1pm wedding. i don't want to pay for private functions, so what on earth do we all do until the restaurants open for dinner?? any suggestionshuh.gif

i wonder if they'd let us go to adventura to get married (the very unreliable website says that they have later times open on the same date) even though everyone is staying at Moon Palace??

I have a 2pm slot...but we were so far in advance, that I actually choose that time. We're doing a coctail hour after and then a reception...but I know of people who didn't want to do the private functions so they had an "informal" get together afterwards at one of the bars

1PM - Ceremony

2PM - Drinks/Snacks at XXX Bar, Poolside

5PM - Dinner at XXX

Or however you want to split up the time.

Some other brides have given guests the "afternoon off" so if they wanted to nap or swim during that time they could...then just meet up again for dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
