Moon Palace 2008 & 2009 Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

hey ladies! I emailed the florida lady and go the "you will have to wait until 60 days" routine. She also said they do the ceremonies in the gazebos only...SO....hm...I don't know what to do.

I'm thinking I might just show up, pick whatever flowers they have, and get married wherever they put me.....is that horrible?? I don't want to stress or have to nag the people in Mexico. And I think we're going to do the cocktail hour, and then eat dinner in a restaurant afterwards, as long as we're all seated together. We have a pretty laid back crowd. We're also considering a sunset cruise to Isla Mujeres for the reception depending on the ## of people coming.

However, I'm sure I'll change my mind 100000 times before then!

I'm so jealous of all you ladies who are getting close to your date! We're ready to go now!

Now we're planning the AHR, and its stressful too!!!!!! so much $$$ to dish out.

hello!! We're getting there on 1/13 and staying at the Moon Palace until 1/18, after that we're going to Aventura Spa for the rest of our trip! What about you?

I just started "planning" I'm pretty clueless about what I even need to plan! I guess I thought I would show up and it would all be done! Until I got on here....and now I'm learning what I need to do!

Erin, first of all the FL lady is wrong, because 1. My contract states you can get a wedding coordinator 90 days before the wedding NOT 60. 2. When you get your WC in Mexico, you can choose where to have your wedding (If you want to call mexico earlier you can, or you can go through the FL lady's manager, they all have one) 3. You can get married in the beach instead of the gazebo, you just have to pay set-up fees.

Hope this helps!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!!!!

Haha, I remember when you thought my name was Raz :) it's hard to get people names straight until you chat with them a lot :)

I was working with Karina in the FL office...BUT, I got an email from her yesterday that she's moving to a different department and from now on Natalie will be my contact in FL. Karina was GREAT! Responded to me within a day or two and did what she could to answer my questions.

You can just show up and have a wonderful wedding!!!! But if you are teh slightest bit a control freak, you have to ask and nag. Just keep telling them you need to know for "budgeting reasons". If anything tell them that you ahve a friend who's gotten married at the MP and you know for a FACT that she was at least able to request certain things before the 60 or 90 days. I can tell you that I've already requested where I want my coctail hour, reception and ceremony (it's not 100% guaranteed, but they let Mexico know what I want and I'll have a better chance of getting it).

Hey Katt!
You know what I think I am going to do?
I am going to hire the resort videographer and play the DVD on a TV at my reception back home.
I leave August 7th for Cancun. Our ceremony is on August 11th and we get home on August 14th. My reception back in Buffalo is on August 16th, so we won't have any time to put together a slideshow, but I think we are going to play the DVD on a TV which we'll set up on a table inside our reception hall.
Is your reception in your hometown too or were you referring to your MP reception?

HAPPY PLANNING!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
