I have a TA, but I am also in direct contact with the resort. I set up my own ceremony and stuff and just used the TA for the guests rooms.

That being said, your TA is right...however, the people in FL can send you the request forms and then put it through to the resort. I don't know if they can guarantee you'll get what you want, but you have a better chance.

They can also answere a lot of questions you might have, at least for me, they act as a middle man...I ask them, they ask mexico, they tell me the answer.

Hope that helps.

From FL

"Also, tour information can be found on our web-site Palace Resorts - Tours . Have your guest log on there so that they can make arrangements. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Have a fabulous day!"

When you go to the link, it says this

"If you want to request additional information regarding the included tours, Elite Tours representatives are available at all Palace Resorts from 8:00am to 8:00pm. You can also write to: elitetoursinfo@palaceresorts.com

Note: Reservation required upon arrival to the resort. Services are arranged through Elite Tours. Departure days, times and prices are subject to change without prior notice."

I'm thinking you might be able to email them to set up your tours ahead of time to make sure they don't fill up.

If you want, I can give you the email address of my contact in FL and maybe she can find out who's helping your TA (if it's not her). She's only in the office Monday, Wed, and Fri and it takes 24-48 hours to get a response...but she does respond! Let me know.

I am still doing real flowers at the resort, but unfortunately those are adding up fast! So for $249 (including shipping) I ordered my bouquet, MOH, bridesmaid, grooms, 2 groomsmen, mother corsage, hair flowers (I think 7 total) and 5 cake flowers. I read all the reviews she has on Ebay and they were all good. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they are all they are supposed to be. We are running out of time!

I loved the website, but unfortunately my fake flowers idea got nuked in a hurry. My mom is a floral designer and is having a huge issue with not being able to make flowers for my wedding (she keeps wanting to go to markets in cancun and get flowers to do all arrangements, but i want to just relax and enjoy my time there), so she freaked when i mentioned the flowers. She loved the looks of the bouquets, but she has her heart set on at least ordering the florist around. The flowers on Ebay look great, I saved the pictures from the site to show my florist, but you're right, their flower costs really do add up fast. I would totally do them if it wasn't for mother.

I feel terrible, but I have no questions to ask my WC, i'm in a planning drought, can't think anything that needs to be done, though I'm sure there is so much to do still. I think I'm burned out becuase of our guest issues. So if anyone has questions, I can ask, that way I'll feel like I'm doing something and making my WC work.

Did anyone book as a group? I was thinking I'd do that since I'd get the free cocktail reception with 10 rooms, but I got the prices today and now I have two weeks to get it completed! I haven't sent anything out to the guests yet, so I would have to skip that and just ask people if they're coming and ask them for their deposit. So, I'm thinking maybe I'll just forget about booking it as a group and pay for a cocktail party if we want one. I just wanted to see what others have done!

Sorry I'm just asking random questions... I don't have much in the way of answers yet to help anyone else out! Thanks!

When is your wedding date? We're booking through a group. With our group guests don't put a deposit down on their room, when they book their room, they have to pay in full. That being said, the rooms are on hold until 45 days before our wedding, so we're telling people they don't have to book their room until November if they have to wait to save money.

Dez I would love your contact in FLs info if you wouldnt mind. I want to do so many things there bc we are there for 2 weeks. I noticed on the website they are offering the swimming with the dolphins for free until dec 08. Im trying to get my TA to get them to extend it for us. But I really want to go horse back riding and stuff. So when you get a moment that would be great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
