Let me know the details on the cocktail - that is nice of you. Maybe me and my husband can swing by and wish you well and all that great stuff. I am excited for you! Also, what time is your ceremony? If it is okay, I may just look from far away. I love weddings!

Right now the planning is kind of at a stand still. I am waiting for my WC to contact me again and still have flowers, OOT bags, gifts, music etc to purchase and plan. I know it will all work out. We do not have nearly the planning that you and all the other new brides have to do. I wish I did, but I am 20 years too late on that one. I am just going to buy all my centerpieces in Cancun from the resort. I do not feel like dealing with all that. Lucky for me, I bought my airline tickets far enough in advance that I still get the two bags per person and we have 6 traveling together. I think everything that I need to buy will still work out that way. Still a pain trying to figure out how it will all be packed, but thats okay.....

We get therer on the 22nd and stay until the 30th. Our ceremony is on the 26th - I would love for you guys to come if interested. After all, You can see what you can do in 20 years!
Nicole,
We're having a cocktail party the night before (we're calling it rehearsal, even though its not). It will be at 8pm on the 22nd (Happy Early Anniversary and Birthday, in case I forget later, I have a feeling with this wedding I might not remember my own name soon) on the Tucan Terrace, next to the Tucan Gazebo (Nizuc side). Our ceremony is the next day at 4pm at the Tucan Gazebo (I'm hoping having the cocktail party there will help people not get lost the next day). I would love to have you and your husband stop by. I think we are doing Xel-Ha all day on the 26th, but if not, I'd love to hide in the bushes and watch your ceremony.

As far as planning, I am also at a stand still. We still dont have a final head count and are having some major issues with guests, so I'm not really motivated to do anything until that's all resolved. Plus there's not much left to do, I'm not entirely sold on carrying stuff in the box either, we'll just to keep looking for options.

Is having my cocktail hour on the sand silly? I plan on having my ceromony on the sand as well. do they even set up chairs and tables on the sand or do you HAVE to have it on a terrace or in a restaurant?

I think Ive been watching too many wedding on the beach movies bc i dont want to be disappointed with my own wedding on the beach. ARGH!

Dez, do you know how you are wearing your hair yet? I dont know if it is going to be extremely windy in January. Im up in the air about it. I recently cut my hair short about chin length and was hoping to keep it down (now im growing it) but i dont want it to blow all over my face and ruin the hair style.

Hey there! Let's keep our chin up ~ it all has to work out, right? Pookie - I noticed you and I both visited the "alternative flower" thread. I went ahead and bought the flowers. They look gorgeous. Are you going to get them? I am still doing real flowers at the resort, but unfortunately those are adding up fast! So for $249 (including shipping) I ordered my bouquet, MOH, bridesmaid, grooms, 2 groomsmen, mother corsage, hair flowers (I think 7 total) and 5 cake flowers. I read all the reviews she has on Ebay and they were all good. Let's keep our fingers crossed that they are all they are supposed to be. We are running out of time!

Keep posting girls! Dez, anything new from the resort? Anyone else?

I know they can do a beach set up. Not sure on the details other than it's an additional $10 per person. Also, Moon Palace's beach can be seaweedy....

Actually, in my avatar pic, my hair is all back and curled. I have naturally curly, stubborn hair so I'm going to have it put up. I think I want it up the way it is in the pic (FSIL's wedding). We took pics of the front and back that day so I'll have something to give them to work off of.

I've been slacking a little...I need to put in my request for the coctail hour and receptioin......I have a lot of things on my plate right now, so it was easy to say "I have seven months, I'll get to it" LOL I should be able to get it done tomorrow hopefully

You are lucky in the sense that you do have time. You also have more time to be picky and get exactly what you want :o) Your hair looks pretty in your avator, by the way. Up is probably a great option....remember very humid! I need to start hair style shopping myself. The only thing I know is that I want flowers in it.

Do they (MP) really charge $10 extra per person for the ceremony on the beach? That is not fair! Yes....seaweed is a problem, but mostly right next to the water. Keep in mind sand getting in the food and drink :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
