It seems to be the best of both worlds, having the ocean in front of you without getting your feet sandy.
This picture gives you a good idea of how some of them are (right by the retainer wall) - I think there are only a couple that are just a little farther away. Do you remember that Pookie? I am not sure we can go wrong whereever we end up - the best of both worlds like Pookie said.

I know Lake Terrace is pretty far from the wall and the beach. Its one of those terraces that you cross when you walk between buildings. I'm using that for my reception and I dont really care, its just so beautiful everywhere.

Five weeks, but who's counting, right. My big problem recently has been trying to figure out a way to bring everything with me. I have a bunch of vases for my centerpieces and dont want to check them. All of our suitcases are either too small to pack all of the glass or too big to carry-on. So we gave up and bought Office Depot file boxes. They're 24x15x10, so they might be a tad big for a carry-on, but we're hoping we'll make it. The cool thing is we are leaving all this stuff in Mexico, so we dont have an empty suitcase to lug home. Other than the packing issues and still having 4 people who can't make up their mind about coming (including FI's mom), I'm so excited, I wish it was July already. I'm having my bridal shower tomorrow, so I'll have pictures on Monday. Also, Nicole, we're having our rehearsal cocktail party on the 22nd, at 8pm on the Tucan terrace, if you want to stop by and meet (I can't fine the post where you told me when you'll get to the Moon, but I think you'll be there on Tuesday, right?).

Hey girls!

Just wanted to share some good news with y'all!

We purchased the Deluxe Package last December. It comes with the private dinner for up to 50 people....soooooo - for about 3 months now I've been trying to book our dinner at 8pm after the wedding, pictures, and cocktail. My WC keeps telling me that they can't hold a reservation until 8pm so that I'd have to have it another day at 6pmhuh.gif This didn't make ANY sense to me why we couldn't have dinner at 8....weird.

Anyway - this week I turned into 'mini bridezilla' because that is the only thing left to confirm and she kept booking us at times that we would be on excursions, etc....

I received an email from her tonight saying that they would be able to give us the Terraza Lago Terrace on the Sunrise side (YAY!!! by our rooms) with a private buffet for our 37 guests with an oceanview front. She sent me all the menus and said to pick any of them....I was in SHOCK!!! These events costs like $45/person and she is letting that be our dinner party reservation after the wedding!! I am soooo excited!!

Here is a pic of the location! We leave on MONDAY!!!! Any questions yall need asked?!?

Yeah - the entire resort is awesome. I don't think we can go wrong any where. What are you doing with all your centerpieces? Just curious. Make sure you wrap them tightly in bubblewrap before going. Is there anyway anyone traveling with you guys can put them in their carry-on bags. I think you might be more succesful with bags than boxes. Also, remember all the airlines are going whack right now.

I do get there on the 22nd - this is our actual 20th anniversary date. Your wedding is on my birthday :o) I may go take a peek at your wedding if that is okay. Let me know the details on the cocktail - that is nice of you. Maybe me and my husband can swing by and wish you well and all that great stuff. I am excited for you! Also, what time is your ceremony? If it is okay, I may just look from far away. I love weddings!

Right now the planning is kind of at a stand still. I am waiting for my WC to contact me again and still have flowers, OOT bags, gifts, music etc to purchase and plan. I know it will all work out. We do not have nearly the planning that you and all the other new brides have to do. I wish I did, but I am 20 years too late on that one. I am just going to buy all my centerpieces in Cancun from the resort. I do not feel like dealing with all that. Lucky for me, I bought my airline tickets far enough in advance that I still get the two bags per person and we have 6 traveling together. I think everything that I need to buy will still work out that way. Still a pain trying to figure out how it will all be packed, but thats okay.....

We get therer on the 22nd and stay until the 30th. Our ceremony is on the 26th - I would love for you guys to come if interested. After all, You can see what you can do in 20 years!

Take care!

Nicole

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
