I am getting married at the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Cancun, Mexico! Is this the same Moon Palace you're talking about?

If so, I am so excited there is a forum just for this!!

I am getting married August 11, 2008!

We are so excited!!

We are going to do the free civil package.

Any info for me!!

Thanks,

Melissa

Are you girls doing the free civil package too?

I guess they marry us on a gazebo and then we have dinner in one of the restaurants, but if we want the free package, we eat with everyone else in the restaurant. That should be OK, right? Do you think our guests will mind?

I just want to make it as memorable for them as possible!! : ) .

Thanks!

The dinner is at one of the restuants, I believe it's semi-private (they give you your own section or something)

How many guests are you having? do you have a group contract for the rooms?

We are doing the delux wedding package and then are adding on a coctail hour and reception. I think we're going to use the free dinner as a welcome dinner the night before the wedding.

I think it comes down to how you feel, how much money you have and how you think your guests would feel.

I am happy to hear that we may get our own section for dinner. I will inquire more about that when I talk to my planner. I was assigned to a Nancy Aruza as my wedding planner, but I haven't heard from her yet. It's only been one day, so I'm sure I'll hear from her soon.

We have about 20-22 people coming. We did reserve a room block.

I think as long as we get 10 rooms booked, we get a free cocktail hour. Do you know anything more about that by any chance?

We are having a reception back in Buffalo, NY when we get back from Cancun, so unfortunately we don't really have the money to spend a ton in Cancun, but we are going to try and do the best we can, so it's worth it for everyone!

Do you know anyone that has pictures that the Moon Palace photographer took for them at their wedding, so I can see?

Thanks for your help,

Melissa

So, what are you girls doing for favors?

I found gift bags at Target that say "Thank you for sharing our day with us" and then I am filling them with these cute magnets we had made up- they have a beach theme on them and they say, "Thank you for sharing this day with us, Vic and Missy, August 11, 2008"

I also added to the bag these homemade seashell ornaments that my friend's brother made! He is an artist, so they turned out pretty cool! I figured people could use them to hang on their christmas trees every year or they can be hung anywhere really, a sunroom or something would be cool! Then they will always have that little momentum to think of us and thr trip we all took together!

I also put in the bag, a photo album with sea shells on the front.

I found a deal at weddingchannel.com. I found fans on that site too for the women to have during the ceremony. They are really pretty!

So, I'm all set for that! What do you think?

Let me know what you girls are doing!!! I love to hear this stuff!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
