catholic ceremony in PV

Hmm I am not sure about that one, I think you could get married by a priest if you are not in a church as long as you don't want a full mass. The one thing I know is that you have to be a baptized christian to have a catholic ceremony with your catholic FI. Maybe have him ask his parish priest and you can bring him with? Good luck let me know how it goes.

you actually don't...you can get an exception from your local Priest to marry a non Catholic and you are okay...at least in PV.

That is good to know! I'm not baptised and don't plan to be. Also, I don't think that is the case even in the US. My brother married a catholic in a catholic church and didn't have to be baptised...he just had to do the marriage classes beforehand.

We definitely don't want a full mass...so it looks like it just might be an option for us outside the church!

For those of you who have done it, how difficult is the process to have a legal catholic ceremony? I heard something about how you must arrive 4 business days before??

The legal ceremony is different than the catholic ceremony. In Mexico to get married legally you have to arrive early get blood tests ( I think) and translate all your documents- there might be more you have to do too.

But you can just have the church ceremony in Mexico and then have the legal ceremony before or after back home - that is what we are doing so we don't have to deal with all that. We are planning on going to the courthouse before the wedding.
