GET THE VIDEO!!! You won't even notice the video. You will have so much adreneline and happiness that it won't even bother you. And if it does make you a little tense, have some champagne. Jay hates hates videos and we were both hamming it up because we were just so happy and a wee bit tipsy. These are meories you will want to share with your children....so get it!!!

After reading this thread, I decided to watch part of my video. Its so long that my husband and I haven't had the time to watch it all.

My favorite parts have been watching my guests having so much fun dancing and watching the toasts again. You miss out on a lot of this stuff as you are dancing yourself and making the social 'rounds.

I have to admit that watching me give my thank you speech after all those cocktails was slightly painful but hilarious at the same time. A year or years from now, I'm sure the painfulness will go away and I will be laughing my head off.

The photos should def. be the bigger investment but I'm so happy that I got the video.

Thanks for posting this, been having the same debate. I am not real big on watching myself on video. Plus how much do you get taped, just ceremony or the whole day. We have many people who will not be able to attend I want to be able to share it with them at home.

After attending my niece and nephews graduation this weekend I saw a video my sister did for them. It was a combination of video clips she had taken over the years along with still photos. It was set to music and the music would fade out during the short clips of film so you could hear the sound. IT WAS AMAZING!!!

Right now I am leaning towards having her do a documentary style video of the whole week they are with us (we are doing a wedding cruise before honeymoon). She can do the 'bride and groom interviews' I have seen in other professional videos, interview guests, etc. Then when we get home she can add video clips and pics of us growing up to clips and pics of the ceremony and trip. This way we have a great video we can run in a loop during the AHR.

Since you don't like to watch video of yourself either shortened clips to show others might be a great idea. Then you can always keep the full video locked away just for you. Carla wink.gif

That is just what I wanted to make. Something like this: YouTube - Levi and Christinas Wedding

That would be what I'd share with people. The full thing would probably just be for us & parents.

Ok if the only thing holding you up is awkwardness and being uncomfortable I dont think you will have to worry. I guarantee you will not even notice- ANYTHING! Our photogs were all up in our business on some shots (at least that's what some guests said) and I had no idea. I didn't even see them or anyone else besides Steve and the minister.

well, the hold up is him being available & mike being OK with it because of his fear of the camera. we'll see. I think I'm sold on it though.

Mike said we can do it as long as I don't make him watch it. He hates seeing himself on video. Also, Mike Canterell is available so we are doing it!!! It's still not booked. But, it looks like we'll be getting a video.

Ok I had decided to use the $500 to get a $400 camcorder instead but now you guys are making me reconsider about the video. My available packages are $800 for one camera, ceremony only, 1 DVD and film to DVD edit whatever that is or $1200 for 2 camera, ceremony only, 2 DVDs and a standard edit. Those are the two cheapest options and they are the exclusive videographer for the Chapel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
