Hello ladies,

I'm going to need a lot of help! We just found out fiance has gotten a company trip for two to the Marquis Los Cabos arriving Feb 25 and leaving March 1, 2007. That's less than a month away! We were wondering if we could turn this into an elopement wedding, just the two of us! We don't have a lot of $'s but were hoping we could do something! There's just the two of us...I was hoping for a pretty place, a small bouquet, perhaps a cake for two of us in the room (my wishes) and perhaps someone to snap a couple pictures to prove we actually finally managed to get married (his wish). We've been engaged since Aug '03- we're older than the typical couple with college age children and 2 sets of aging parents with medical issues-need we say more! Any help would be greatly appreciated in trying to make this happen.

Thanks, Leslie

WOW, I would be stressed if I were in your shoes.. lol

Have you contacted the resort yet to see what wedding packages they have? Also if your wanting a legal wedding you will have to hire a WC so that they can handle the paperwork, booking of judge and blood work. You'll also need to send them some info ahead of time.

We can recommend photographers and WC if you need that.

Wow - this sounds like fun! I am sure you can pull something like this off -the trick might be to make it a legal ceremony, since the paperwork can be a little tricky. I am making mine legal in the US, so I don't have a ton of advice there, but some girls might.

I'd definitely contact the wedding coordinator at the resort and tell her what you'd like to do - she should be able to help. Also, the Cabo brides on here should be able to offer more tips as well.

Let us know how it turns out!

Leslie-

I think that is so much fun and totally doable! Just contact the resort ASAP to see if they have a coordinator. The first thing you need to do right away is line up the judge. If you do it on a day other than Saturday, you should be able to get one. Here is the info on their website. I am sure it would be less than they quote since you already have your room.

I'd love to know who you're using as a WC and a photographer...unfortunately the coordinator at the Marquis is being less than helpful. It has me VERY frustrated right from the beginning! I was hoping they'd have a nice little package to work with and I'd go from there...no such luck so far.
Thanks!

Leslie...WELCOME!
I am getting married in Cancun in October.....I'm sure that your frustrated, but hang in there and it will all play out! I would prob. start by hiring a wedding cord. That will ease your mind a bit!
Good luck and let me know if there is anything that I can help with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
