Trashing the Dress - answers please

Recommended Posts

All that I really know about it is that it gives you an extra time (one that you will probably never have again) to take pictures with your husband. I wouldnt have done it if it werent for a beach. But think that it will give the opportunity to have such amazing picture. Your supposed to use your wedding dress and trash it. But I know that many other girls are just getting a whole other dress.

Our TTD session was the most fun thing we ever did. I highly reccomend it because the pictures are so much more relaxed and fun. I had a hard time convincing DH to do it, he hates getting his pictures taken, but he loved it and was so happy we did it. Most of the pictures we framed are from that day. I used the same dress and my dress was all lace and it did no damage to it at all, in fact it made it cleaner because my dress was black on the bottom after my wedding. So do not worry about ruining your dress. Especially if you don't plan on wearing it again.

I asked FI last night if he'd do it if I was able to find a reasonably prices photog...he said YES! :)

I searched on here and emailed a bunch of Cancun/RM photogrophers and asked for prices for a TTD session and suggestions on where we'd do it...as the Moon Palace has a no outside photog rule.

I'm going to get a second, cheaper dress for it. My dress cost a lot of $$ and I have to wear it again for the AHR. I know everyone said their dress didn't get ruined, but I can't take that chance.

I'm SO excited!!!!!

Try Martha Roque. Her prices are very reasonable and she did a fantastic job with our TTD. It was so much fun and I highly recommend it!!

I got married just over a week ago and did a TTD. I'm not gonna lie.....it was absolutely amazing! Everyone loves the photos....and best of all, they didn't cost a cent. My best friend took my camera (nothing special) and just started shooting. You really don't need a pro to do them.

I was watching all the people walking by taking pictures of me in the ocean, in the swimming pool.....we had comments like "is she drunk?", "that can't be a real wedding dress", etc.....its hilariousl what people come up with. When I was in the pool I even had an onlooker come over and help us with poses and everything. People were amazed!!

I wore my real wedding dress, and it was a big one! I wouldn't have changed anything! I'm so happy we did it!

Anyone who is thinking about doing this.....DO IT!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
