Hello Ladies! I am so excited I found this website. I just got engaged a week ago and am planning a destination wedding to Mexico in April/May 08! Not sure of where yet, but I'm hoping to get some help. I would be curious to know if anyone has considered renting out a villa versus having a wedding at a hotel/resort? -Amy

Welcome Amy!!

Although I'm not having my wedding at a villa there are other brides who are. I'm not sure who, but if you are considering Puerto Vallarta you can view weddings on thedazzlingdetails.com and just search the name of the villa on google.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum!

We actually planned on having a villa wedding for awhile in PV. I think it is awesome because you have your accomodations / wedding / reception at one private place. We only decided against it because the villas we really liked had strict event capacity guidelines that we could not meet. But I say if you find one that works for you, it is a great idea. Good place for a welcome dinner or coctail party too.

welcome4.gif Amy! I did look into renting villas...they are very nice and much more private. But we opt to do the resort since the wedding package was included and there were many activies and all-inclusive drinks and food at the resort. We have a tight budget and couldn't afford the extras that might come with the villas...however, I do believe there villas that have room service and food prepared for you each day. Worth checking into.

welcome3.gif I think just the main difference between a resort and a villa is that at a resort you can go All inclusive so if you're on a budget and you're having a large group Id totally recommend going the Resort AI way...but there are also some beautiful villas in Cabo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
