Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Okay ladies, I talked to my travel agent this morning. She had been out of the country on her own vacation when all these issues came up with Dreams. She made me feel much better. She agreed with TA Jill and said that usually the guests that get bumped booked their reservations with an online service (Orbitz, Travelocity, etc) or if they book directly thru the hotel.

All of our guests used her to book and most of them are thru Apple Vacations. She said they should not try to move them. She said the Dreams Resorts needs to keep all of their contracted travel company guests happy. Plus they realize that we will have Apple reps there to help us if there is an issue when we try to check in.

She also said that they usually do not overbook their hotel like this. There was a major computer glitch in April. She said something happened and they were giving out confirmations I think on their own website and it wasn't taking the rooms out of inventory. In all the years she has only had this happen once with Dreams. She said that was Spring Break time, around Easter, etc. and a VERY busy time for Cancun in general.

So she told me not to worry. She said Dreams usually takes very good care of their guests. She said that we should be fine. So I just wanted to pass that long to all of the upcoming brides that are stressed out like I was. I think as long as they get the gazebo ready on time, then everything will work out for us. :) And I am trying to stay positive.

Thanks y'all are making me feel better. I will just think about the tropical drinks and fun in the sun and try not to worry about anything else. Does anybody know how to say make it a double in Spanish? Lol :)

The manager of Dreams just sent me some photos of the new gazebo. But when I try to upload them it says they are invalid files. I don't know why, they are jpegs. Can someone help? I know everybody will want to see these new photos. One is of an actual wedding that took place yesterday.

Have you tried sending them to your photobucket account & then copying the image file from there and posting that way?

You could email them to me & i'll try if you don't have a photobucket account...melbc80@hotmail.com

Are these pics of the brand new gazebo or just the temporary gazebo?

OK....She has sent me the photos of the new gazebo....the first is an illustration of what the gazebo will look like when completed. I really hope this isn't exactly as it will look as it is alittle underwhelming IMO...Regardless, thanks so much for letting us post them so we can be kept in the loop with the changes :)

ok, I have to post again, i hate to be Debbie downer...I guess the original one was just more traditional looking which I liked...

Click the image to open in full size.

The new one could look really nice once it is finished, maybe add some organza curtains.. It just needs more depth.

    • I purchased a suit from Studio Suits in spring 2019.  I looked around everywhere because I was looking for a specific color which wasn't easy to find, so when I found it on their website I read all the info on their website where they claim to deliver high quality suits, premium material, great tailoring, etc. It couldn't be more false. First of all the company is from INDIA and you won't find out until you receive the package. You order from Stu Suits and receive the package from Harry Suits. I received a suit that was at least two sizes bigger, the shoulders where different one from another, the hamming on the ankles was visible and poorly done. The quality of the fabric was extremely mediocre. The lining looked and felt cheap, no attention to details and no mention anywhere of the kind of material.  When I placed the order I did not receive any welcoming email, but simply one stating my measurements were  not correct and I needed to pay for a trial suit 99$. I re took the measurements and confirmed them. They simply replied saying "all sales are final". When I placed the order they said it would take them 6 weeks to deliver the "custom made suit". I received it within ten days, why? because it wasn't custom at all. I can't stress enough how bad the quality of their product and service is. There are so many other services that can deliver so much better quality for less than what this con company asks for. Hope this can help you folks
    • Karla Casillas is dishonest and a liar . DO NOT USE her . She will be the missing wedding planner on your wedding day . After being paid in full she did not show up and texted  that she is sick . We had to take over  to save the wedding of 150 guests at Grand Velas . Cabo  MISSING WEDDING PLANNER.

    • You might consider underground studio Puerto Vallarta. They are a young coupe doing an excellent Job at affordable rates.
    • Thanks for answering Patty! We are having the legal proceedings done in December so february is the celebration. We will have pictures first then a ceremony with a religious discourse and then have the reception.  I'm guessing we will be 50 people, give or take. Half of them are Canadian. They will need accommodations but if we have the wedding ag a resort I dont want them to be forced into staying there if they dont want to.
