Mrs Timpone - i love your hair! I also have extensions - did the salon do them??  I wanted to wear them so badly but was worried the salon wouldn't do a good job styling them, or the wind would be so bad that they would just blow all around and get in the way.

i never even considered doing a beach wedding at dreams!  But the setup and colors you have are BEAUTIFUL  i am thinking of doing the same colors in chair sashes.  did you bring them yourself?

oh and thanks for the suggestion on having a semi private dinner ladies - i emailed claudia this afternoon so i'm thinking i may definately do that!!

also - what room is everyone booking for dreams??  ALL of our 40 guests are staying in the pyramid building so we really didn't want to go to the PC building because i dont' want to have to hunt everyone down the whole time.  I have emailed several people and gotten pics of the honeymoon suite and the presidential suite but i'm just not sure what we want to book.....

oh my goodness, we really had such similar weddings!!! i got my hair flower at clairs too, lol!! great minds think alike!

Briannarae23 ...I would definately find a way to have a reception.  we had soooooo much fun eating together and dancing the night away, and it was our way of thanking our guests for spending their time and money to come celebrate our wedding.  it might come off as a little rude if you just tell everyone to go eat and meet up later that night.  maybe you could do a semi-private dinner at one of the restaurants like we did for our welcome dinner.  we were charged $15 per person (including tax and tip) and still had tables set up for all of us to sit together.  i chose the entire menu for that night b/c i wanted to print cute menus, but claudia told me i could chose the main entree and each guest could chose the app and desert they wanted.  you wouldnt be able to have a dj or dancing in this case, but you could always go to the little club after dinner and party.  our actual wedding reception ended at nine and everyone went upstairs to change and we all met up at the club and partied till 2am, we had a blast!!

jana...the package calls for 90 mins to 2 hours,  i emailed juan directly before the wedding and he agreed to come to my room 30 mins before the ceremony to take some "getting ready" pics.  DH and I decided to add 2 hours to the package and we're extremely glad we did this!! we ended up with 150 printed pics and over 1200 on our cds!  they are AMAZING!!!

and about the clubs/bars?? The info my TA sent me said there was one bar that was open from like 5-midnight at dreams, and i was kind of bummed because we do have some partiers with us!! Did you end up leaving the resort and going to another bar in cancun or is there a bar on premises that stays open late?

They have one lounge type bar that isn't open very late...I think it closes at 1am. We had my semi-bachelorette party at this place as we were all way too hungover from partying at CocoBongos the night before. It was a BLAST!!! My husband & his groomsmen ended up coming & this is what the night turned into...

PS---YOU MUST GO TO COCO BONGOS!!!!!! It is SUCH a great time & so worth the $45 to get in (that includes no line & unlimited drinks)

The bartenders at Desires were more than willing to be a part of our fun!!

Could a future/past bride of Dreams help me out. I was told that for the songs for the wedding video they need to be in MP3 format, but it's difficult to get anymore information out of them. How do you get it to them? Send an email, or bring a USB stick? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.

CaitlanB - wish I could answer, but I never thought of that.  I will be interested in the answer.

I have a question for future/past brides:

What did you do for a flower girl basket?  Is that an item that is worth purchasing and trying to not mess up in your luggage (the ones I see don't look too sturdy!)?  Are there any options at the resort?  Have you tried anything other than a basket, like a cute pouch?

Thanks in advance

Courtney

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
