Jencakes21 absolutely beautiful! Congrats! My wedding is July 13 2013, getting close! I feel like I have nothing prepared. When will the wedding coord give us the total price? Do you pay at the Resort? I want to make sure I'm not too over budget. Also, what extras did you take? And what advise do you have? I'm taking chair sashes- and favors for the wedding seats- fans and bubbles. Thank you!

If your wedding is in July the wedding coordinator should have already sent you a contract (quote) with the total cost. If they haven't I highly advise you to give them a call and send emails until they respond. I know they get really busy over there but you should already know what the wedding is going to cost you. When you arrive at the resort you will meet with the wedding coordinator and you will go over all the details of the wedding. This is when you will make a final payment on the wedding since it must be paid in full prior to the event. As far as extras, I took my own centerpieces, fans, chair sashes and OT bags and saved TONS of money by doing this! I wouldn't bring anything else then what you already plan to bring because it's really not needed and you will have to many suitcases.

Did you put out your own centerpieces and ties your own sashes etc. Or did you have them do it?  I want to save money, as well, so dont want to have to pay alot for them to set things up.  At the same time i dont want to stress myself out by having to do stuff or put the burden on any of my guests. So i'm wondering how much they would charge to set out my centerpieces and put the sashes on (which i already purchased on my own and plant to bring).  Thanks.

I brought my own chair sashes and centerpieces. The hotel set-them both up for me and there is no additional charge for this so no worries

Same here last Nov for daughters wedding , we brought 6 suit cases in all and no cost to place all the items ....

We made a 4 page letter in bold letters to tell them how and where we wanted everything to go for the  ceramony and reception at Hutmisu Beach .

It was just how it was stated in the letter , every piece of bling just where it was suppose to be ....

They are great at what they do down there so do not stress out .....

PS Other brides have left 12 inch tall vases there and if you are needing them ask in that way ( want to borrow vases that other brides have left ) and they will let you use them at no cost .

Hi Dreams Brides!

I found this thread to be very helpful when planning our May 18th wedding at Dreams Cancun, so I wanted to share a small sampling of professional photos from our wedding (we used our own photographer). Everyone at Dreams does a fantastic job, and our wedding exceeded my expectations in every way!

Hey Ladies!

Wei just posted Lori's most recent amazing wedding at the Dreams Cancun and I wanted to share the shots with you!  I personally LOVE the newlywed shots with the lighthouse!  Such a unique background that you don't get at the other resorts!

Happy Planning!

I am new in here, I am getting married on Aug 31st 2013 ohh just a few months left. I am so nervous. I have a few questions please help me.

Ruby is my wedding coordinator, she said If I bring my sashes they will charge 2dlsfor each one (for set Up), well everytime I ask for soemthing to add, they want to charge me for extra everything :(. Do you guys think is better to get outside Wedding Coordinator?

They charge taxes like almost 28% for everything too :(. I got my DJ and Dancing Floor from outside vendor, even with the 150 dls you have to pay for outside vendor fee is like 600dls cheaper.

If someone got a outside wedding coordinator can you please pass me the info. Thnka you :)

Congratulations to all!!!!

For an outside DJ and dance floor, who are you using? How much do they charge? I know the hotel DJ is almost 1000! Ouch...and the dance floor is almost 800.00. It seems so steep!

    • Sorry you had to deal with this I hoped it worked out. It seems to be every few months a new store will be in the  'if' stage and to the 'when' stage.  Big businesses like this don't notify the employees or customers before they close down...that would cause even more losses.  One day there are signs on the door and the business is done.  And lots of people (employees and customers...not to mention the creditors that they owe millions to) get screwed immediately with little help to be found anywhere.  Look at alfred angelo, although they had less retail stores than David's Bridal, they may have had more sales than them as a company.  They were the largest manufacturer of dresses and were carried by thousands of independent stores across the world (not just the 60+ branded stores they had).  If you google search Davids Bridal going bankrupt, they are listed on all the sites that post retail stores on life support.  They have more debt than they will be able to service in 2019 and the only question right now is if they'll make it that far.  Once the debt comes due, it's almost a 100% certainty that the company will be done.  But it's also more probable than not that the bankruptcy will happen much sooner than that.  The argument about them getting a new line or how big they are isn't a good argument if you look at the history of how these normally happen.  Alfred Angelo had a brand new line of dresses that never even hit the stores but were made overseas already...those all made their first appearances at the liquidation auctions.  I'm not trying to scare anyone here, but just trying to make sure that people understand that when a company gets to this point, it's definitely a roll of the dice if you are ordering something that you can't take home today.  How much of a risk?  That's hard to say, but I am extremely confident that the pain felt when alfred angelo closed 61 stores will be even greater when Davids Bridal closes 300+ stores…and when there are other great discount dress stores out there like Bridepower or Vows Bridal Outlet on the East Coast or Brilliant Bridal in the West (and plenty of others as well), I don’t think I would personally recommend any of my friends to take that risk!  But that’s just me:)
    • Hello all!! I'm planning to get married next week. I'm working in an MNC and I'm gonna marry my colleague who is in my company. It's been ten months since we have started our relationship. He used to support in all my difficulties and used to help me in my work. Always he used to tell me about my smile. He says that I have a very good smile and he loves it. Recently I lost my front tooth after an accident and it resulted in a bad look for me. He told me that I lost my beautiful smile. I was totally disappointed and thought of finding a solution. I heard about dental dentures and took an appointment at a clinic in Scarborough. Will dentures affect my speech? What was your experience of getting dentures?
    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
