Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

I'm Back!! We got in late last night and we're still waiting for our luggage, damn airlines!

We had a fantastic time everything was perfect! We also met Susan & Matt, they are both wonderful people and it was so nice meeting both of them!

I also met Katherine at our wedding! lol! She came down and introduced herself, it was so nice to meet her, she is a sweetheart as well, I'm so glad she came down, I didn't get to see her wedding because that was the morning we left for our honeymoon, but I hope she had a beautiful day!

I'll post a review & pics really soon, promise!

Hello Ladies!!! We got in last night, my hubby also had to go straight to work today...stuck with the laundry eek.gif

We had THE best time!! To check out some of my pictures for now you can go to my myspace page: MySpace.com - Katherine - 24 - Female - Texas - www.myspace.com/dancerkat9

Click on my picture, and go to wedding weekend!

We found out the day of that Erick was sick, so they sent Alberto and we think they are going to be Wonderful. He had two assistants and we had a blast taking pictures!!

Due to the weather they moved my reception to the ballroom, which worked out great. Everyone was a little relieved to get out of the wind!!!

And as for Secrets Capri in Playa...AWESOME!!! Okay, back to house work...hehe

I checked out your pics and everything looked so great! You are absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to hear your review of the day! One question...where did you have the rehearsal dinner? I've been struggling with finding a place for ours smile105.gif and it looked like you guys really had a great time wherever you were! Also...if you dont mind be asking...how many people did you have there and how much was it per head?

Thanks so much!!!

CancunBride07. Your wedding looked beautiful and you looked gorgeous! Do you have to pay to eat in all the restaurants if you want to eat as a group? couldn't you all just show up at the same time and avoid the fee? Or do they do anything special for your rehersal dinner?

I'm having so much trouble with the questionaire. What's the best package to get and where is the best place to hold the reception?

I was told you could reserve a table for dinner for up to 20 ppl, but I think Susan said she had 25 for RD and they accomodated them. I think the 20 person thing is just a ploy for the wedding department to make more money. Although I'm sure if you showed up with 50 ppl, they might have a hard time accomodating you.

we really liked the terrace, we had the cocktail hour iin the garden which is also beautiful. I originally wanted to have it on the beach, immediately when I saw the setup, but I didn't think about wind and sand and let me tell you that everyone says its windy, but I didn't understand how windy until I got there, sometimes when we walked back to our room I felt like the wind was pushing me the other way, lol! Its strong, so I would have worried about sand blowing on peoples plates and people being cold!

I have complied some new questions for those of you that just had your 'Dreams' wedding :)

1- What did they charge you to set up items that you brought yourselves?

2- Did Claudia/Daniela stick around to help you follow your timeline?

3- Those of you that had 4 hours for dinner and reception, did they charge for the extra hour?

4- Did any of you have the long table setup on the terrace? How many people did it fit?

5- Was the dancing on the terrace hard due to the poles from the awning?

6- Cocktail time in the garden - did you have problems with heels sinking into the ground?

7- Anyone have the trio for the ceremony music? Could you hear them?

8- Did you buy candy and chips for OOTs bags? Where was the best place to buy these items?

9- If you had round tables for dinner, how many people could sit at each?

10- What were you charged for passes for those not staying at Dreams?

11- Did you have dessert and cake? Was that too much? Did you opt for a smaller cake if you did both?

12- Anyone do sparklers? What did they charge?

13- Anyone use the extra room they offer in the Ultimate package for their FI the night before the wedding?

Phew! Sorry for all of the questions...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
