Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the pics (i decided not to post them since everyone seemed to email, and I don't want to overload the forum) The views aren't horrible, and I will definetely not be shooting from the angle that this photographer kept shooting at. Is anyone else going to have the ceremony off center now, and are you worried it won't look right not being aligned with the isle? I keep seeing a lot of Dreams Cancun girls with the fish-eye pics.... is this the resort photog's thing or is this a new trend? I guess I'm really not digging it. I think one fish eye panoramic might be cool, but not all my pics. Other than that, the weddings were very beautiful... I hope some of those brides are on this forum and post a review soon!!

same here!! I just don't get it...maybe one or two would be cool but it seems like a lot of the pics i've seen have the fish eye lense...definately letting the photog know i don't want it!!

I've emailed 13 brides so no need to post the pics now. It is definitely not the same view as before but the pics made me feel much better. The facebook pics are terrible and the rocks look like an eye sore but it's not as bad once you see everything set up. I'm sure the photographers will have lots of ways of getting around having the rocks and the beach in much of the picture. I have 6 bridesmaids and groomsmen so I'm hoping they will hide the rocks a bit. haha

So glad I could help and send the pics ladies! If Claudia decides to send me more pics to further ease my mind I will share them as well. The resort photographer took all the pics.

Does anyone have some leads on good photographers? I like Moments that Matter but Claudia Rodriquez does pics and video and I really want a video. I see them and they make me cry. I want one! haha

I am bringing my own photographer from the states. I found various photographers who I loved, all who regularly charged from $3000-5000 to shoot a wedding locally. I emailed them all an offer that I surprisingly found a lot of them would take! I said, how about a free 3 day all expense paid vacation to Dreams Cancun in turn for shooting my wedding.

My photographer and her assistant will shoot 8hrs of my wedding day and a TTD the next day, and what I spent on their trip was less than Juan Navarro charges for 4hrs of shooting. And they are giving me the CD with all pics. They're happy, I'm happy. I highly recommend! And no "vendor displacement" fee by the resort because they are staying at Dreams as a guest.

The video that comes with the Wedding package is really good. I LOVE mine. It was perfect. He shot the whole Ceremony and he was shooting the whole time we were taking pictures and then he set it all to music. The only thing I wish i would have done is asked him to include our First Dance song (Then-Brad Paisley)..Other than that, it was so great!

I used the Resort photog that came with my package and I really liked my pics. I used to have the link but once they all got wiped out I never put it back up. If I can find them I will post the link :)

I thought these were great considering he was the resort Photographer :)

Aww thanks! I didn't say anything to him, he kind of just took over, which was fine with me. I didn't think he would be so into it...since I am sure he wasn't being paid much from the resot, but he really was.

I didn't have a preference but if u did, I'm sure all u would have to do is tell him :)

Hi everyone,

Im sort of freaking out and wondering if you guys can help me. We have had our wedding date December 29, 2010 booked now for a year and we are realizing that prices to go during that time from Canada are almost $4000 per person so we have to change our wedding date up a week or two and it will only cost half the price or less because its not the week of Christmas. I emailed Claudia but what I'm wondering is what is the easiest way to get a hold of her? I know some people on here have said that they have tried calling, did this work? I need to know if I can change the date fast because the travel agent is holding some flights for me but I'm afraid that it will take forever for Claudia to email me back because the last time I sent her an email was in September and she still hasn't gotten back to me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
