Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

I would also look into getting a travel agent. they can get you group rate quotes from different airlines. I had a group of 22 at my wedding and tried getting a travel agent but the group rate she was quoted was really expensive so in the end, most of my group booked through Orbitz and a couple others with Expedia and Westjet. Check different websites and see what the prices are like before you book.

Another option you have is getting a discount rate from Dreams. If you call or email the sales manage Armando, he will set up a wedding code for you with a special nightly rate which is good for 3 days before your wedding, and 3 daya after. I had a couple of cousins who stayed at a cheaper hotel for a few nights and then stayed at dreams with the special rate for the last 3 nights. my wedding was a couple weeks ago and the rate they got was $147 USD per person per night. thats a lot better than the 400 dollars they quote online! so if your guests can get a cheap flight, they can book the hotel seperately with the wedding code. you have to email him to get the rate for whatever month you are there.

The extra cost for each person over 20 is roughly 80 USD and that includes the cocktail hour and reception dinner.

I had 4 guests and 1 photographer who did not stay at dreams and I was not charged any day passes

hope that helps
Thanks a million!!! So helpful and exactly what I needed to know.....

Good luck! :)
Wow thats great... How did you get that? Are you bringing in your photographer? I hope I can bargain when I get there... Im gonna keep my fingers crossed...

Yes we are flying our photographer down to Mexico ... I just told Cecilia what I felt the photography was worth that I wasn't using with them and told her I wanted that amount to go towards our sound system rental for the night. She agreed. I would make sure you print off any emails you get with that agreement - I made sure I had it in writing from her.

Good luck!

cecilia, and gaby before her, and daniela before that ... they all seem waaaay more apt to make trades/give credits than claudia (the main WC). for my wedding back in may, claudia would only give me the either gazebo drapery OR an extended video for not using the resort's photographer. i argued but she wouldn't budge. all i wanted was the sound system for the ceremony.

my best advice is to just get all your deals in writing so they can't change their mind on you!

I just got back from my honeymoon but will try to do a review soon..
One thing i wanted to mention was that we had a symbolic ceremony and had a minister by the name of Roxanne Fernandez and I read a post right before my wedding saying how she did a bad job on someones ceremony! But I wrote our own ceremony script and emailed it to Cecilia who gave it to the minister a few days before our wedding and Roxanne followed my script perfectly and I was really happy with her. I would sugggest taking a look at the ceremony script that they usually use because it may not suit everyone. I did not like it at all, it was very boring and religious and im very, very happy I wrote our own, it was more special.
quick question...Did Roxanne have a strong accent/were you able to understand her well? That's my main concern!

hi, she did have a little bit of an accent but really not bad at all. she spoke pretty good english and was able to read the script that i wrote for her without any problems. ive watched our wedding video a couple of times and i am happy with how she performed our ceremony

Thanks for sharing, this was a major concern for me as well! I agree, the script that they usually use is way too religious for my FI and I. I feel so much better now knowing that we can send something ahead of time!

    • Hello all!! I'm planning to get married next week. I'm working in an MNC and I'm gonna marry my colleague who is in my company. It's been ten months since we have started our relationship. He used to support in all my difficulties and used to help me in my work. Always he used to tell me about my smile. He says that I have a very good smile and he loves it. Recently I lost my front tooth after an accident and it resulted in a bad look for me. He told me that I lost my beautiful smile. I was totally disappointed and thought of finding a solution. I heard about dental dentures and took an appointment at a clinic in Scarborough. Will dentures affect my speech? What was your experience of getting dentures?
    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
    • Hello everyone,  I am still engaged, still not planning the big day, because we haven't chosen a date + we have some family stiff to do so I hope that this forum will help me a lot before the real craziness during the wedding planning period. Happy to be here
