I am getting a different dress. I thought a/b using my wedding dress b/c what else would you do with it, right?? But I just don't think that I can trash it sad.gif I saw another brides TTD with del Sol (which is amazing but WAY out of our price range), and her dress looked really good in the water and it was only $100 from Victoria's Secret!! Wow, I love her dress. That's a really good idea, I will definitely have to get another dress for the TTD. I actually think my TTD might be like before my wedding lol...is that wierd? My photographers are coming from Monday-Friday morning (I think) and my wedding is Thursday...
Where are the TTDs done in Dreams? Like on which beach? Is everyone like staring while you do it?

Good idea by the way to do a session the day before - however I think my photographer will be there the day before to do pictures as well. Not sure what to do with the Dreams photographer.
Hey,
I told Claudia we wouldn't be using their photographer or videographer b/c we're flying ones out but that they're our relatives and would be guests at the hotel and she didn't say anything about it, so I'm pretty sure its fine. Say they're relatives & guests. Instead I think we can get gazebo decor or maybe extra centerpieces. I think for credit, its easier when we're just there discussing the contract to bring in a list of what is included in the package and show her what you're using and not using and in person be like okay, what can we get for this? It's too difficult to do everything online. I used to email Claudia everyday and bug out and get so angry when I wouldn't get a response but she's super busy (they have weddings all the time and she like pays more attention to the weddings that are coming up).

I'm sorry I'm like flooding the wall... but I'm just looking through all the last pages I've missed because I just finished finals so now I'm free to plannn =) ... I'm trying to think of all my q's so I don't keep hijacking the wall.

1) about the bows, we're having our cocktail hour- then ceremony- then reception -- has anyone done that, and if so, do you think they'll be be able to take the bows from the ceremony fast enough to the reception or should we get double?

2) has anyone picked out their menus? Is it too late to pick it out once we've arrived?

3) How long in advance should we tell Claudia what cake, centerpieces and bouquet we've picked out? I basically know what I want but is it too soon to tell her?

4) For receptions on the beach, has anyone done a light-up dance floor w/o a dj? Two of my guests (a husband and wife) are musicians so they'll be singing and performing...how big is the sound system, is it enough for wedding singers? (I don't even know if I'm making sense, but you get the gist right lol?)

5) Has anyone done the catamaran or like pirate ship dinner thing for guests? I don't want anything too expensive but I figure that'll be a cool rehearsal dinner or after wedding event (in Russian weddings, we do a 2nd day thing instead of a rehearsal usually). Also, if I do something like that, do I still need like big goodies for all the guests or are like fans or something like that enough?

6) I think in the package it says that we get like 15% off in the spa --can we use that for our bridesmaids hair do's--has anyone paid for their bridesmaid's hairdo's? Is there a point?

7) For people who have gone there... is there like some kind of deal if lots of guests want to go to a club outside of the resort? I remember when I was there it was like $40 per person...has anyone gone w/ a big group and had the price reduced to like just price of bottles or something like that (clubs here, if we buy bottles we don't have to pay an admission fee).

I'll be thinking of more Q's, for now work on these PLEASE lolll =) Thanksssssssss <3

You most likely will be taking photos after the ceremony. It is then that they will move all the bows, etc over to the reception site, there is plenty of time.

I had picked out my menues months before the wedding, and changed the whole menue (and everything else, lol) once we got there3) How long in advance should we tell Claudia what cake, centerpieces and bouquet we've picked out? I basically know what I want but is it too soon to tell her?
You can tell her now or when you get there. As long as the bouquet isnt anything out of the ordinary they should be able to accomadate you once you get there

DJ Mannia can do the light up dance floor. And in my opinion he is the best DJ I have ever seen, hands down

Im not 100% sure on the discount. I did pay for my bridesmaids to get there hair done, and I am very glad they did, they loved it. I dont remember it being very expensive either. I also had them do my makeup, and i was very happy with it. I would however email and make a reservation at the salon a few months out, they do book up.

well there are A LOT of places to go, think of it almost like a small vegas strip, you might be able to find a place like that.
I hope that helps

As for the bridesmaids hair I think it was $45. And 'Mini-me' and 'Bernardo' are the guys to talk to about going to the clubs. There were about 12 of us that went out a couple of nights and they'll take you to where you're going and make sure you get a table and don't have to wait in line. We went to Bulldog the first night out and since I had never heard of it I was skeptical but we had a great time. The girls danced and the guys drank, Bernardo hooked the guys up with a table right by the dance floor. I got in for free and I think everyone else paid $40, cover is usually $45. But that included bottle service so it was a good deal. Then we went to Coco Bongo another night and it was crazy packed but Mini-me (and yes he actually goes by this and is really small) got us a couple tables. Definitely hook up with one of those guys to take you where you want to go. And they stay out with you to make sure you're OK which is crazy because they'll be at the resort the following morning leading that day's activities. They work all the time!

not sure where they're done, but from the pics i've seen it's on the beach and on the rocks around the lighthouse. I don't think it's weird b/c it's more of a fun photog session with your FI; the only thing that would bother me is that you won't have your rings

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
