Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Jennifer, I remember the spa being very .........spa ish. Not to say this is a bad thing, but I think it would be odd to hold the reception there. Its very hot and muggy. I think the terrace is the best place to hold it.

I have been through the same, this will be the third wedding coordinator I have dealt with! Pretty shocked that Gaby has left, was wondering why it was taking so long for her to respond to my e-mail, she was normally back to me within a day or two. I am so glad that I found this forum, at least now I know what's going on! I guess I will try not to focus on it and get everything finalized once I arrive, we arrive on Sunday and the wedding is on Thursday. I've printed all of my correspondance just in case there are any issues, hopefully there won't be!

My ceremony is late and my Reception will probably eb around 7:30/8:00 and I am really thinking of trying to have it in the Spa area.
I remember loving the pictures (That I can't find..LOL)
I guess I'm just hoping for a review or if any of you know what the heck I am talking about :-)
In other news, I think I am booking DJ Doremixx..He is really cheap and I am hearing good things about him!! Let's hope Dreams lets him in!! LOL
I remember seeing some pretty pictures from the spa area too, but I'm pretty sure I also remember seeing that it used to be an option and they decided not to do it anymore because they kept having to close the spa down for weddings. I'm pretty sure they don't allow that as an option anymore.

Aww really? I think I heard that youcan only have it there if you were willing to wait until it closed for the night, which I think it aroun 8ish? But it does make sense that it's not an option anymore, because we really don't hear of DC brides having it there.

Hmm..I am just going to wait until I get there and scope it all out :-)

Thanks

When I met with Claudia on-site she had a file with all the emails and pictures I had sent them and my contract printed out. So they are pretty organized no matter who receives your emails. When we met she knew what was in the file, my concerns, she had recommendations, etc. Very thorough.

Claudia is an excellent event coordinator and does this day in and day out. She works late hours and hardly takes any time off. She is always out and about the property making sure the events in flight are prepped. So no matter who you had as a WC, you will be well taken care of. You will also have a couple of meetings once you are on site. (Kiki - I only had 3 days before the wedding which was more than plenty of time). They have weddings almost every day and will make sure your day is as you want it and special.

Relax, focus on those things you can control- your dress, travel, OOT, wedding party stuff, etc. Looking back I know I spent *TOO* much time worrying about things that I didn't need to :)

Paula- you're fabulous- thank you! I am trying to keep that attitude and not even worry about it. No stress! i'll owrry abotu more important things like My FI's outfit and our rings!!smile03.gif

Again, they all work together - that is why your correspondance goes to the generic WC account. You have a team of WCs! Claudia is the main event coordinator though. No doubt your weddings will be fantastic!

I just heard from Gabriela two days ago and she didn't mention that she was leaving. I am surprised that they don't reach out to the clients, although I guess that shouldn't surprise me since they are so over worked. I just hope that all the exchanges I discussed with Gabriela are honored by the new wedding coordinator.

Has anyone booked an external photographer?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
