Thanks for your help =)
I received my contract form Claudia a few days ago, and my wedding is not until August, with a request to sign it and send a $500 deposit. I did not sign the contract as there are several things on the contract i wanted to change or choose and said that i will sign it when it is changeed. As far as number of guests I am not sure when you need to commit by. As far as i understand you can make as many changes to your contract as you want even when you get to your meeting with the WC when you arrive at the resort.

I'll see if i can find the breakdown, its in this thread somewhere, It was something like $25per person extra for cocktail hour and 65? extra for dinner. I am not sure exactly on the numbers but it was quite rediculous. If you opt to not have the cocktail hour then your per person charge is less for the extra people because you only have to pay the extra for dinner.

OK...so i don't know how to attach the documents that Cecilia sent me...so i'll write it out....and this was just sent to me last week so its for the 2010 year.

For Cocktail Hour: Gold or Silver Menu appetizers + 1 hr international open bar = $26/person

Reception: Siver or gold menu includes 3 hour international open bar = $48/person

Additional Hour International open bar = $15/person/hour

These prices don't include 10% tax and 15% gratuity.

Hope this helps!!

Maybe it's $93 for cocktail hour and dinner. That makes more sense. I am skipping the cocktail hour since all the guests can drink for free at the lobby bar anyway. A lot of the brides on this forum have done that and said it worked out wonderfully. I exchanged the cocktail hour for 15 extra people at dinner since we are having 43 guests and only 20 are covered in the package. The price I was quoted for dinner was $42 + 15% service fee + 10% tax so a total of $52.50 per person. Hope that helps clarify.

That makes sense about the difference between cocktail and dinner and just dinner. We're having 50 guests and a private welcome dinner so I'm trying to see if they can work something out like giving us the dance floor...will let you know ladies!!

Be persistent about what you want. It took a lot of effort and complaining, but I eventually did a cost analysis of the swaps they were giving me and the amount of revenue they were getting frommy guests and was able to get everything I asked for. It pays to be a pain:)

I'm going to skip the cocktail hour for sure! Hopefully they will agree to give me 15 extra people at the reception because we have anywhere from 40-55 people coming...$52 seems reasonable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
