I don't have it, but I am pretty sure I have seen it on this thread somewhere.

Hi ladies, if it helps ease some stress, i know Claudia was away on holidays for a week and a half i think up until a few days ago so is now cathcing up on all of her emails! I know this doesn't help answer your questions but maybe a little stress. I recieved my contract form her yesterday so she is working on answering emails.

Congrats to the November brides whose dates are approaching, that is so exciting. I cant wait to read more review!

And welcome to the forum Carolina24! Its great to have another bride. Make sure you add your date to our Dreams Cancun wedding date thread.

Hi Ladies!! I've been following this thread for a while now, debating on whether to change my wedding location... I was planning to have my wedding in California, because I am moving there in a couple months, and doing so would allow a lot more of my family to come... However, all the venues in the OC that I've been looking at are ridiculously expensive, and I don't think it's what I really want anyways - I would be doing it purely for my guests. My fiance and I LOVE Mexico, we go there all the time, and I really think I would regret getting married anywhere else!! Anyways, Dreams Cancun seems like such a gorgeous site, I love that gazebo, and the water on 3 sides. Also, I love the idea that Cancun is an easy/cheap flight from the US. Soo I think it is currently my top choice! My question for you ladies is - how far in advance did you book your date? I am pretty flexible in the Oct-Dec 2010 timeframe, I just want to do a Saturday around 4-5 PM, which of course is probably the most desired time. So I'm just curious how much time I have to make this decision... I'll probably contact Claudia soon to get her feedback on some actual dates, but I was just wondering what you ladies thought first, and was interested to see how far in advance other brides booked their dates.

Thanks =)

Jessica

Jessica,

I booked my wedding almost a year in advance and at that point, all the Friday and Saturday evenings were already booked. At first, I was really bummed out, but after thinking about it, I decided it really didn't matter what day of the week I got married. It's not like the wedding is at home and you are incoveniencing people that have to work. Everyone who is attending the wedding will already be there on vacation and will be available every day all week. Needless to say, I booked a Thursday. We arrive the Saturday before the wedding so everyone has plenty of time to settle in but still has a couple days after the wedding to enjoy Cancun before going home. Good luck with your planning and remember to do whatever makes you happy. You're only a bride once and you need the day to be perfect for you and your fiancee not everyone else:)

We are particular about our music and have tons of songs that we want to play for our wedding so we just got the sound system and are burning our cds and labelling them for the technician (dinnner music, first dance, cake cutting, dance, etc)

hope you have an awesome wedding!!!
Thank you!!! I put my mom, dad, brother, and bridesmaids to work throwing some playlists together, and I think we're just going to rock the iPod! For some reason I just thought music was included!

Thank you so much to everyone who contributes to this forum! I didn't post a lot - b/c most of my questions were already answered, but I hope when I get back I can help some of the newbies out as much as you all have helped me!!!

We leave tonight!!! YAY!!!smile123.gif

Hi Jessica,
I'm in the process of negotiating with Claudia and Cecilia for Friday, Sept 24 at 6 pm. As of now the date and time are open but other weekends are booked (especially on Saturdays). I would contact her as soon as you can and make sure that you get everything you agree on in writing. They are really busy and have not been answering emails promptly. Its better to call their direct line. Since you'll be having a destination wedding, the actual day of the week isn't as important because people will use your wedding as an excuse to go on vacation :) But if the date is important to you, I would put a deposit down soon.
On another note, I think that you and your fiance should go for Mexico. You both love it and it's A LOT cheaper. And you can't beat the view!!!
Good luck with the date and if you need anything let me know.

ps here are their direct numbers:
Claudia 011-52-998-848-7000 ext 7635
Cecilia 011-52-998-848-7000 ext 7603

Hi everyone. I was planning on getting married at iberostar, but am considering this resort. I would love any information ( I have read through some of these posts) that you would like to offer. I'm somehwat concerned about price- all the "extra"s are alot, but I think some are included in the package?

Has the photography over there?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
