Thanks for the responses.

So, I've got the cake prices and Susan said she'll email me the flower prices.

On another note, I'd like to share our engagement video to my fellow brides whose helped me out tremendously.

My fiance, Sean, loves to take videos of our vacations and makes mini-movies. During our Eurotrip, he filmed our vacation and he made sure his camera was ready when he proposed in Paris on our 11.5 years anniversary.

Enjoy!!!

Rose-

What a great movie!!! I wish we had our proposal on video...it's all such a blur. I think that's so neat that your FI makes mini-movies of your travels. What a great reminder of the places you've been. He did an awesome job of putting this video together...I love that he edited it so that the crescendo of the music is timed perfectly with the proposal. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hey ladies-

I need some help! I'm looking for the latest pics of the reception locations. I think someone posted some pics that Claudia sent them not so long ago. I remember a couple of shots of the beach area.

Reason I'm asking... I was 100% set on having the reception using the Tower Lobby/Terrace area. Now that we have about 100 people attending, this is a problem. We'd probably be too tight at the terrace, and there would be no room for a dance floor.

The alternatives seem to be a meeting room (which I REALLY don't want to do), or the beach (which I really didn't want to do either...but am a little bit more open to). I'm just worried about the wind, sand, and food... doesn't mix well. And dancing in the sand? Don't know how well that's going to work.

Hmm, what do you think?

Susan -

Here is a really awesome picture of a Beach wedding that Daniella sent me last week. I can't for the life of me figure out how to post a picture so I had to put it in an attachment. Seeing this picture totally made me want to have a beach wedding. Is the garden not an option for you anymore either due to the size?

Jenn-

Thank you! That was the picture I was looking for. Doesn't it look gorgeous?!?! I am just worried about the wind. When I looked at all those reception pictures that you posted form Michael Maurus...it looked super windy. I guess it's just a gamble. I think the garden area is out because of our numbers, but I almost think that would be worse for wind because the garden area is up higher along the cliffs. I don't know what to do...I guess I have a little time to think it over. I did e-mail our DJ service for their opinion as well as the photographer. Both have experience at Dreams and I feel will give their unbiased opinions. I'll let you know.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, the other potential downfall I was thinking about with the beach is the fact that there isn't a bar right there like there is at the Terrace.

I am concerned with the wind too. Daniella did tell me that we can change the location 3-5 hours before the reception if the weather isn't looking good. I'm not sure if this applies to wind too or just rain. She also told me that they can put a dance floor on the beach so guests wouldn't have to dance in the sand although they'd still have to walk on it.

I'm still undecided at this point too but I obviously have a year to mull it over. I wish I could just decide when I get there since we will be there 5 days before. Its so hard to decide by looking at pictures alone although all the 1st hand accounts definitely help!

OK... so I'm not sure what made me stop and take a peek in this discussion, but WOW, I just looked at that beach set up... and DANG! That's amazing! I LOVE IT!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
