Sunitam--did your photographer stay in the hotel? I'll have to speak to Claudia, but I'm nervous. How much was the fee?
hi, I hired the same photographer as Kat81 from the US. He may or may not stay at Dreams but Im not being charged for a guest pass either way. I was told by Gaby that any guest of mine who is not staying at dreams doesnt have to pay for a day pass as long as they come around an hour before the ceremony so I told Cecilia that when she tried to tell me outside photographers require a pass. Like Kat said, they are a guest at your wedding and you are paying almost 50 for each extra guest for their dinner so dont pay anymore!

You can pay the wedding package the day when you check-out. We paid by credit card, but the card company charged us $68 for currency exchange service fee. doh.gif You can pay cash in USD or pesos, they accept both, and I think they take traveler's check as well.

I don't even think there is a view of the ocean from there and isn't that the whole reason we do destination weddings in Cancun? I feel I am being moved around due to a large wedding that is more important but I don't have that confirmed. I would be so grateful if anyone could give me pros and cons of having my reception in the spa terrace or the garden as I think these may be my only two options. I just feel the garden is so out in the open it wouldn't feel private at all and weird dancing away with so many onlookers? Or, does anyone know any other locations that I could look into that have an ocean view? By the way, we booked Dreams 17 months in advance. I am feeling a bit down...any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey hun, I found that review that I wanted you to see:

this Dreams bride had her reception outside in the spa area and loved it- there are some great pictures in the review that show it off nicely. Theres a really great pic of her and her DH dancing on the water fountatin, lol.

I don't know if anyone has been on the Dreams Cancun website lately, but they are currently offering two promotions. Both offers include free stays - 1) every 12th person stays free 2) one complimentary room for every 15 rooms booked . I am a little upset that they don't offer this to brides based on number of people booked. My guests alone are bringing more than $50k to the resort the week of the wedding, not to mention the additional revenue from our wedding. I am definitely going to contact the resort and fight for this. Why shouldn't the bride and groom get a little extra for bringing all this business that Dreams normally wouldn't get? Most resorts offer a free room to the bride and groom with a minimum number of guests booked. What is $3k to them when they are getting over $60k? Just thought I would let everyone know in case you want to use it as a bartering tool.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
