Thank you to everyone who have answered my questions... got a few more! lol

Did any of you do OOT bags and if you did, what is dreams policy w. handing them out? Can I give them to the front desk with a list of my guests. We are only having 14 guest, 4 of which I will be giving their oot bags to them when we get there because they are going the same day as me/same flight everhting. the others I wiould like to have given out as they arrive by the front desk.

also, do you use CD or IPOD when renting docking station for ceremony> Thankyou!

What time is your wedding? We are having a party in teh bar lobby from 7-10, so we will def be 'out the way' now for the other guests booked that have nothing to do with my wedding..ummm I cant say how well behaved they will be. sad.gif I pray VERY WELL. Soo excited!!
Hahaha, I think we are all the reason the hotel is sold out :) I know of at least 3 weddings between Thursday and Sunday, and Im sure there is one more on Saturday night. I have a few guests staying at another resort too...of course they booked too late. Oh well, they had plenty of opportunity :) We were just a little concerned more with people "crashing the wedding." I actually wouldnt mind as long as they are friendly and dont cause problems, you know. We are doing the typical day, wedding at 5, cocktail hour at 6, and reception from 7-10. Are you doing the same?

I am back from our wedding~ the wedding date was so nice and smooth~ felt sorry for the couple who had wedding on Sunday for the crazy thunderstorm, but I heard they all had a great time.

I had some drama for the trip, need some time to type the review, but welcome any questions!

Since my group came in at the same time, I met and hang out the OOT at the lobby. I greeted them with the bag with cold drinks from the bar~ I think Dreams charge an amount of $ to deliver the OOT bags, but I am not sure about the amount.

I think they do CDs. I didn't bring my own music, just told Cecelia that I want one particular song when I walk, and she happened to have the cd.

I don't even think there is a view of the ocean from there and isn't that the whole reason we do destination weddings in Cancun? I feel I am being moved around due to a large wedding that is more important but I don't have that confirmed. I would be so grateful if anyone could give me pros and cons of having my reception in the spa terrace or the garden as I think these may be my only two options. I just feel the garden is so out in the open it wouldn't feel private at all and weird dancing away with so many onlookers? Or, does anyone know any other locations that I could look into that have an ocean view? By the way, we booked Dreams 17 months in advance. I am feeling a bit down...any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

awww so sorry that your reception was changed!!! that sucks. I dont know if this will make you feel better at all but ive heard that the spa is an AWESOME place to have a reception! i read a wedding review on this website when i first discovered thie reviews and the bride loved having her party there. it was very private and romantic she said. Do a 'Dreams cancun' search under the Wedding reviews section and read them all so you can find this review, there are pictures. I asked to have my reception at the spa but they told me no b/c they do not allow receptions there anymore because guests were complaning that they wanted to use it whenever they wanted. maybe you will end up loving it! i hope so :)

Thanks so much for all your supportive words. I appreciate the help you offered Sunitam, and how it may be a good choice after all. Cecilia is being very sweet and she did let me know there was a big wedding taking place in the garden at the same time which ruled out the tower terrace as the two receptions would be so close to each other. She is trying to make us happy and I REALLY appreciate her quick responses. I think the spa terrace it is. We will have to hope our guests can handle not seeing the ocean for a few hours! Heck, we are from LA, it is not like we aren't blessed with that great view on a regular basis.

You all are wonderful! Thank you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
