Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Ladies,

I have a question for the Dreams brides who were married there.

Cecilia indicated that the packages are subject to a 5-hour limit (1 hr for ceremony, 1 hour of reception, 3 hours for dinner).

Can someone please clarify what that means:

- Are the after ceremony photos subject to a one-hour limit?

- If you don't have a cocktail hour, can that be moved to the reception to make it 4 hours?

- What happens if you need more time? Someone said you had to pay for the drinks and service of $22 per guest for every hour above the limit. Is this true?

- What if you don't want any more drinks and service past the 3-hour dinner but want to hang out and dance, do you still have to pay?

Additionally, are there extra charges for table linens? Can you take your own?

Sorry, too many questions but your help will be appreciated.

Thanks!!

I haven't been married there yet, however, I e-mailed Claudia and asked if we can extend the reception 1 hour...I specifically told her that they can clean up the tables and we can get ut own drinks at the bar, we just wanted to use the space and dance and she told me that it didn't matter, it would be an extra $10 per person for that extra hour.

Does the $10 an hour per person include drinks and service?

Thanks!

They sure do look fluffy! Are there any spa products that come wrapped inside them or are they just towels? It's a great idea to have them for all the ladies in the bridal party so you can use them together when you go to the spa! Do you mind sharing how much they were?

For favours, we are going to give heart-shaped measuring cups that come in a fancy looking box with a tag on it saying 'love beyond measure'! We thought our guests could use them for baking for Christmas since our wedding is in December right before Christmas! They are about $5.00 each. smile72.gif

They are pretty fluffy. There are not spa products wrapped in them. They have an elastic in top with a velcrow closer so you can wear them at the spa, when you get out of the shower, etc. I bought 10 of them so I got a couple dollars off each one, but I think they are normally $22. I love them! I think it will make for a cute pic too:)

I think our guests booked at $130 per person, per night absed on double occupancy. It's a per person rate because the resort is all inclusive. I think that's a great price. You get a week at an all inclusive for a little over $900...can't beat it! My wedding is in the beginning of November. I am sure that rates fluctuate for different times of the year, but it can't hurt to ask.

Coco Bongo was 70.00 per person so that was too ridiculous for us--
$70! That is crazy!! Did that include open bar? How much was it to go to Ice? Where did you do the tequilla photo bottle? The last time I went to Cancun, we loved Fat Tuesdays. The drinks were awesome!

hey thanks for the info. I called and they offered me $174 / person / day for january. flying from Canada is pretty pricey so doing the package deal with the flight pretty much is the same, expensive for my guests! oh well- i cant keep stressing about it!

Did you check on Orbitz? I just did a quick search on a package leaving on Jan. 3 and returning Jan. 10 and it's $1,546 for flight and hotel (Dreams). I don't know how close that is to what your guests are already paying.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
