Ladies, my experience with all of the salon ladies was excellent. I thought I had to have Christian since I had heard great thing about him. He was in a class when I was there so I had one of the other stylists as did my sister and they were excellent!

Don't stress it always works out for the best!
Can I marry my husband at Dreams again?!
paula XOXOXO!! I miss you so much! Is it time yet to put on our dresses and have that beer??

I think this may be a stupid question but i figured i'd ask :)

Thanks,
Kristen
We squeezed in a couple of dances, but they do try to keep things moving. we just wanted to get our dances in during dinner so that after dinner we could just dance and party!

that is insane! this is getting more expensive than I thought. I can't believe they charge cocktail AND dinner reception separately!

I have the buffet menu for the Ultimate package if anyone is interested. I am not sure how to attach it to my post. PM me if you would like me to send it to you.

I do not think that they will but it does not hurt to ask. We are only having 18 people to include one child and when I told Cecilia she did not adjust the price of my package at all. I was able to trade some of the options I was not using for other things that I wanted but that was it.

I know...it is definitely crazy how much it runs you when you go above the 20 people included. So far, we have 48 people confirmed, so we decided to skip the cocktail hour. From what I hear, the beach where the reception will be set up is behing the Tower and there is a lobby bar in there. I figured while we took pictures, our guests could have drinks there. If you skip the cocktail hour, they will also give you 15 more people for dinner, so that covers 35 in total.

I would definitely try to have them give you a credit or include some more upgrades in your package. Sometimes you really have to make a case and fight your point, but if you are persistent, I have found that they usually accomodate your requests.

thanks! sunita
Sure! Below are the trades I was offered:
1. Photographer for Gazebo Decorations
2. The Mexican Trio during cocktail hour for the sound system for the ceremony
3. Make up for a Manicure
4. Cocktail hour for 15 more people for dinner

I felt like these trades were unfair because the cost of what was originally included in the package was more than the trade they offered me in every case. So I did a cost analysis where I showed the three columns: original cost, the cost of what they gave me for a swap and the difference. Collectively, the trades they offered me were worth over $1k less than the original offerings. I was able to use that to negotiate extending my reception for an extra hour at no additional cost. For example:

Original Swap Variance
Mexican Trio Sound System for Ceremony
$560 $180 $380

Hope this helps! If you need me to send you the price lists, send me your email. I don't have enough points to post.

Wow, you had really good trades! When I asked for additional people for dinner in exchange for cocktail, they said no...

Thats great advice. I emailed Claudia last night to ask for a few trades. If she declines, I will use your method to fight it. Thank You!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
