Another question? Has anyone gotten credit from the photographer and been able to use the credit towards partial payment for centerpieces?

How much are the kids meals?

My entire wedding is over at 9pm. Has anyone gotten an exception to keep it going till 10-11pm? Its on the beachsmile72.gifsmile72.gif
My Reception is on the Lobby Terrace and I was also hoping to extend it an hour (until 11)..I want to have my DJ stay too, but i'm not sure if we're allowed. I mean for that hour, we can get our drinks at the bar inside and we dont need servers...Or chairs for that matter..LOL

Let me know what you find out :-)smile29.gif

hey, i got a credit for not using the photographer. at first, gaby kept telling me i could use the credit towards gazebo decorations or gazebo decorations, and i kept telling her no! i was not about to use a $380 dollar credit for putting up decorations on an already beautiful gazebo in the most breathtaking spot! so i told her to please put the credit towards the sound system so finally she did. I got 2/3 hours of the system covered for the reception which was 360 bucks. im sure you could put the credit towards flowers, you should ask
I read somewhere on here that kids meals for the reception were 1/2 off
and if you want to extend your reception its like 25 bucks per person per hour i think. they will extend it for $$$ of course!

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 25.00 PER PERSON!! S&M.gifS&M.gif:
They must be crazy... we just want to enjoy some music and the guests can just walk into the hotel bar and pick up a drink. They are crazy, they try to get you with everything. Im not regretting having my ceremony here but if I knew all this ahead of time I would of looked and considered other places that actually have their weddings ending at 12am.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say I'm here, and I've been here for days now...reading & reading & reading...I am now up to page 123 (woohoo!) b/c I have stopped to click on links and look at other threads. I'm catching up though and I just wanted to say I love this thread! It really is so helpful. My FI thinks I'm a little too obsessed but whatever. So thanks to all of you and I will be writing again shortly.

right, and you'd probably pay for the extra time just to have them tell you to turn the music down! I THINK NOT! i mean, i understand, i'm staying in the tower, and not everyone's musical taste is as good as mine LOL! wink.gif i could just imagine if your room is on one of the lower floors how disturbing someone's party might be if they let it go til midnight. that said, they shouldn't allow receptions anywhere near resort guests' rooms then. we pay good money for our weddings, not to mention some people pay out the wazoo for djs. i will NOT be told to turn down our music!

just take your party elsewhere when your reception ends. i'm having problems with it just being 3 hours too ... i mean, how long does dinner take? what would we be left with? like an hour and a half of partying? i tried to make our dancing music playlist, and without any slow songs to break it up, i have over 4 hours of party tunes in there! how do you narrow that down?

Well what I did was I came up with songs for the reception and they are pretty upbeat like Sade, Ditto, Gypsy Kings, etc... so by the time dinner is up, its party time. We have the dollar dance (us mexicans) which is customary in all weddings. Everyone dances with the bride and groom and they pin money on her dress and his suit. But I think Im going to skip it, which is lame but I want my guests to have a good time. My sister made $5,000.00 from her dollar dance which is awesome, but then again that can take up to an hour of my time and I dont want to bore anyone. So I will have an envelope drop box at my bridal shower instead since its co-ed.

So if anyone finds out how to make the wedding a little longer please let me know.

I'm not even staying there for my reception so I'll probs be chucked out of Hard Rock after an hour lol There isn't that many of us so dancing won't be happening as most of them that are coming are boring as shite lol

I tried to persuade one of my best mates to come but FI banned him from the wedding and I wouldn't trust myself to go through with it if he was there lmao

As for the marachi yeah if they want it they pay for it - don't be stung. Tradition is great but there comes a point when it just gets silly especially price wise

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
