Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

I used this company about a year ago!! They were great and you do not pay anything until you arrive at your hotel, they also take you back to the airport at the end of your trip for a reasonable price. I am planning on working with them to set up the pick ups for my guests.

They picked us up in a Lincoln SUV. The guy was super nice and it was a private transfer just the two of us. Went straight to the hotel and he gave us a lot of history of things as we went. I would totally use them again! And they picked us up at the hotel on time and got us to the airport quick.
thanks for the info share, i've been looking into it, another one i found is called Mexico Hotels, Mexico Travel Destination Guide, Mexico Vacations it seems like they are pretty good among feedbacks on this forum

I think I asked this before, but what's wrong with the photographer that Claudia gives? Is he/she not professional? Why is everyone looking elsewhere? You're all making me nervous!

Also, is anyone getting their marriage license here and having their religious ceremony here? I'm Jewish and I'm having a tiny ceremony for family and then a symbolic one at Dreams, but the actual marriage certificate arrives a month afterwards. Does anyone know if we can bring just a copy of the license?

the resort photographer is juan navarro:
Juan Navarro ... Photographer

a lot of us just aren't *totally* thrilled by his photos, mostly because we've seen what other photographers can do from so many stunning photographs on this forum! and when you consider that not everyone will be able to make it to your wedding, the photos are *really* extra-important! also, what is included in the package is only 1 hour of juan's services (basically just the ceremony) and something like 36 pics i think? if you want more time/pics, you have to pay extra. stacey (a recent bride) paid for him to be there for reception and everything, and it ran her about $1200 (on top of her package). seems like if you're spending that much, you might as well hire claudia rodriguez or someone from her team (the only "approved" photographer who doesn't require a day pass), or one of the many other talented photographers who serve cancun (we hired moments that matter).

from what i'm told, you don't need any proof of your legal wedding in order to have a symbolic one at dreams.

I got some ceremony music questions... I am given credit from Gaby to use their sound system for ceremony, but not sure if they will provide the music, or I have to bring my own?? If I need to bring my own music, what format should I prepare? Mp3 player/ipod, cd or dvd?

What else is included other than sound system an mic??

Does anyone know? thank you!!!

I did not know that in the package Juan only stays for the ceremony! That is such a waste. This means I must def. get another photagrapher lined up if thats the case. WOW what a rip off... I am so tempted to cancel eveyrthing else and just have the ceremony there and head over to a local restuarant like you ladies. They are such criminals with all the money we pay for our wedding, on top of what our guests pay to stay in the hotel UUGGHHH I have a friend who is getting married at the Paradisus and her WC is sooo on point. You wouldnt beleive it!! She has everything taken care of, they offer all sorts of pictures, packages, she responds back within the hour its AMAZING. I am so down on Dreams.

I just wrote a letter to every email i could find under Dreams with how upset i am with their services. I stated that i understand they are busy but its not right that other hotels which cost less provide their brides with better service. On top of that we bring in alot of business to their hotel and with the way this economy is going they should be kissing the ground we walk on. Me seeing what type of service someone else is getting for the same type of wedding really upsets me because its not right, that we get the short end of the stick. If you want Dreams future brides please write a letter stating the same thing. We deserve to get quality service as well as better deals for what we are paying. These packages are all a rip off. Im so sorry but i just got so upset when i read about Juan Navarro a guy who noone even likes and he is just going to take 35 pictures. Are you kidding me?? UUGGGHHHH bridezilla in full EFFECT..lol

Thanks for hearing me out :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
