Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

I have some questions too!

i was reading one post that said it was dark by like 5 o'clock on the beach- my wedding is at 6- now i'm kind of freaking out! also, we're having the coctail hour on the terrace but the reception will be on the beach- has any one done this? will it be too windy on the beach? I though i had everything under control and now i'm second guessing everything!! and we have 99 days left!!!!

OK...so I've been away from site for a while- but I'm back!

Here is what I have done:

reserved the date -June 14th 2009

I have 23 booked so far (I think we are looking at a final 40)

Booked Caludia Rodriguez for Photog

Booked Mannia for DJ

Booked our rooms and travel

Booked mini-moon (Excellence Rivera Maya)

We are doing:

Reception on beach /Cocktail on terrace (still iffy on times and schedule)

also:

we booked a boat to take our guests on a mini snorkel trip (cancun catamarans)

now i need to:

make welcome brochures

buy favors (buy here and ship)

buy decorations (walmart /cancun)

pick food and decide on wedding package details

decide on music

lose 22 pounds.

ok- i think that's it....yikes.

Exactly- i'm not going to worry about wind (they'll be so much alcohol it doesn't even matter!!

Here is what I have done so far:

reserved the date -May 6th 2009

14 poeple booked

Booked our rooms and travel

We having the ceremony (at 6pm) in the gazebo, cocktail housr on the terrace and the reception on the beach also.

I've also ordered all of my favors. (i will ship them to the hotel a day or 2 before i go there)

I will make up OOT bags when i get there as well.

We got the wedding package that includes the photog- don't think we're getting a videographer.

we got the tech with the sound system for the ceremony and i think we're going to do the same for the reception as well. one bride said they just used the cd/ipod player from the room (but i don't want to be in charge of changing the songs- go i'm getting the tech.

Still need my passport (yikes!!!) and the rings, but otherwise i think we're pretty much set (i hope)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
