Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

Destination---I am having the same issues. My wedding is a 6:00 and I was thinking that was too late. There was a post on this site somewhere that said sun sets at 6:30 ish. I am not sure if it was a June or October wedding though and might be different with the time change. Also I am looking for a good TA if you could share that with us.

Lucy,

Thanks for that info and the pics of your reception on the beach. I was wondering if it gets really dark on the beach for the reception with just the lights under the table and the tiki torches (did you have the tiki torches)? It appears that you had some extra lights - were those provided by the DJ - or were those an extra charge. Also where is the closest bathroom for guests to use - Is it Seaside Grill or the Tower lobby?

Do you know how much extra the dance floor with the lights were? Thanks for all your help - can't wait to see your professional pics!

Yes it got pretty dark but because of the DJs (Carlos from Mannia Audio) lights and the dance floor plus the lights under the table it was perfect. The closest bathroom was in the lobby of the Tower. The illuminated dance floor was $350. I dont know if the price is the same but I bet it is pretty close. The tiki torches are a ficture around the resort, they are lighted every night by a guy who blows a konch shell and has a huge flame with him, yikes so those are always there. Hope this helps!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello Everyone,

brand new at this and just finished reading through all the posts and finding the info very helpful. It makes you feel a lot better knowing that tons of other brides are out there wondering the same thing. I was hoping someone could help me out with some things

1. did you all bring your own give aways??

2. I'm having my reception on the beach as well, was it windy at night?? I'm getting married in April 09

3. How was the cake?? I'm getting the ultimate package and it comes with a cake, does anyone have any pics.

4. Any suggestions on how to cut cost by bringing my own decorations or is it not worth it.

5. Was it worth an extra 2000 to bring in Claudia R. for pictureshuh.gifhuh.gif

6. did your grooms where a tux or a suite?? did they complain about the heathuh.gif

Sorry I know its a ton of questions really Appreciate it :)

1. did you all bring your own give aways?? We too brought our own OOT bags with goodies in them
2. I'm having my reception on the beach as well, was it windy at night?? I'm getting married in April 09 Yes windy but the beauty of the location is worth it to me
3. How was the cake?? I'm getting the ultimate package and it comes with a cake, does anyone have any pics. Cake was good, fed a lot more then it said it would. I had a very simple one that was included with just some flowers on top
4. Any suggestions on how to cut cost by bringing my own decorations or is it not worth it. We didnt do gazebo decorations, felt it was too expensive for such a short amount of time but dont need any other decorations #1 not worth the hassel and #2 it is gorgeous there as is!

1. did you all bring your own give aways?? Yes, we brought fans and bubbles, but instead of doing a favor we hired a cigar roller

2. I'm having my reception on the beach as well, was it windy at night?? I'm getting married in April 09

from what I understand it is always windy. Im not sure if my day was more windy than other ,but my bridesmaids dresses flew over their head, if thats any idication.

3. How was the cake?? I'm getting the ultimate package and it comes with a cake, does anyone have any pics.

I had the tress leches cake and everyone loved it.

4. Any suggestions on how to cut cost by bringing my own decorations or is it not worth it.

I did not bring my own decorations. I used theirs, and I think it was the ones that came with the package. I personally would not spend a bunch of money to bring stuff. The atmosphere is enough.

5. Was it worth an extra 2000 to bring in Claudia R. for pictures

I used Dreams photo guy, Juan... whats his name. His photos were good, although I dont know that I would feel the same had I not had an amazing TTD shoot with someone else.

6. did your grooms where a tux or a suite?? did they complain about the heat

My men wore slacks and nice white shirts and flip flops. THey were pretty happy. I on the other hand was SO hot that after me and DH were done taking pictures I had to go up to my room and take of my dress for a few minutes

Sorry I know its a ton of questions really Appreciate it :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
