Here it goes: do you know if Dreams has any kind of extra fee for using outside photogs. I also want to hire Claudia Rodriguez, Erick from her studio did my BFs wedding and he did a phenomenal job. I read a post on this forum about many hotels havign a fee for outside photogs and now I'm freaking!!!!!
Sabina, as far as I know there is not an extra fee at dreams, I think someone may have answered this question in another post, but I'm not positive. I think the only fee that might be possible would be a day pass fee, which is usually around $80

That is great! We have recently reserved a date with Claudia for Feb of next year, so I will be a Dreams bride too! I am so excited I feel like we are finally getting somewhere. We are going through the initial quote trying to make sure we add items, ask questions and make sure we don't miss anything!

Paula-

Exciting news! Glad to officially have another Dreams Cancun bride! You'll really be well informed by Feb... as several of us have Oct/Nov. wedding dates and will be able to give you all the details :)

Sabina-

There doesn't seem to be any problem bringing outside vendors into Dreams. I'm not sure about the day pass though. I should check into that. I am using an outside photographer (Citlalli from Claudia Rodriguez) and an outside videographer (Paul Schrank) for our wedding. We booked the "ultimate package" which included some minimal photography and videography. Since I will not be using that portion of the package, I will receive a credit that I can used towards something else. In fact, I just got an e-mail from Claudia (or maybe the new assistant... yeah!) that gave me the exact credit I would be receiving. Anyway, I will look into the day pas thing and see what I can find out.

susan,

did you already fill out your survey?? I haven't yet because I'm not sure on everything. I'm glad to hear that you got a credit for the stuff you're not using, so is it just the photography & videography that you're not using? Would you mind telling me what your credit was? I'm hoping that with the couple of things I won't use that my credits can cover the sound system or a dj, or most of it!

Jilly-
Here is what she quoted me for credit...

Photography:
$ 380 usd + 10% tax for the 36 photos included in the package.

Videography:
Dear Susan.

We will give you a credit of $ 300 usd for the video, you can use this credit for more flowers or cake.

No music after 11 p.m. (outdoor areas)

Thank you!

As far as the "survey" goes... I guess I'm not exactly sure what that is. Is that the same as the wedding request form? When my parents went down in Feb., they put 50% down on our wedding package to reserve the date.

Some how we will get this all figured out...smile03.gif

Yah, I spoke to my TA yesterday and she said that she doesn't think that there is an extra fee for the photog/videog (that sounds funny LOL) but she'll make sure to get that in writing from Claudia for me! (Yei)

Jill,
so aparantly, the survey is the contract. Who knew! LOL I told my TA that I filled it out but not fully since I don't know all the info just yet, mine has a ton of ?s and ranges and she said that's fine and they expect that. I recomment that you get yours in asap to make sure your day is reserved. Just give her the tentative info.
Yes, I kind of figured the survey thing was the contract, my TA already reserved my date and I've asked her several times, does this need to be in right away because I don't know some of the answers and she was like no, you've got plenty of time. But I think I've made most of my decisions now, so I can probably get it sent in with what I have so far.

Okay, thats good. I think I might keep the video person they have, I don't need a super long video, but if we have one of the ceremony that will be good since its included. So I'll just ditch the photographer and figure out if there is anything else we don't need. At least the photographer credit should cover a couple hours of the sound system.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
