Agreed! I think that the buffet is the way to go simply because of the options. If you do plated, everyone eats the same thing. I have picky guests. Some don't like red meat, some are highly allergic to fish, some I swear just don't eat period. With the buffet, everyone can eat (or not eat) to their hearts content. I was so glad that we booked 30 people because I have no idea what I would have done otherwise!

did you happen to find out if you are able to edit or add things to it like readings, sand ceremony, el lazo, etc.?
You can give them the items you want included.
The lady that did ours was not too bad. We only asked for one thing to be included and we didn't want it to be religious. She kept saying God this and God that, but that was fine, we had

Fill out the sheet they send you to get a general idea of what you want.
When we were married there were no other weddings or corporate events going on, so if we wanted, we could have probably have changed it.
Claudia spent a lot of time with us the day we got there going through all the details. She had saved off all the pictures I had sent and had a very good idea of what I wanted.

Gaby (and prior - Daniela) work a lot replying to emails as Claudia (who speaks English very well) is more senior and organizes all the events, not just weddings. She has very little time off as they have so many events to put together. She spends very littletime in the office - you will see her running around all over the place.

I think you will be fine :)

I cannot say this enough, I worried too much about the little things there, since I didn't have control over them. They really do know what they are doing. You are having a destination wedding, thank goodness they are taking care of all of those little things.

Closer to your wedding date you will have more time dedicated to your questions and it will be perfect. Spend time on things that are in your control, dresses, thank you cards, OOT bags if you are doing them, song playlists, guest book, etc. (we really didn't need any decorations btw).

We had to most amazing time and our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended - and we had some picky guests :)

OK folks, I was just on another thread and learned of the possibility of Dreams Cancun holding more than 1 wedding in a day. Apparently the FAQ on their website used to read, "Your day is your special day," where now it says, "Your time is your special time." That suggests to me they are holding more than 1 wedding and reception in one day. Can anyone shed any light on this topic please? Thanks

I know there is another wedding before mine because when I had to move mine up Gaby had to make sure it wouldnt conflict with the other wedding.

You guys are right about the buffet, it defiinitely relieves some stress on our part, less decisions and more options for the guests!! smile29.gif

Depends on the time of year you go. Dreams has gained such popularity.
Such a wonderful feeling to be married on the tip of the Yucatan penninsula!

PM TA Jill. She was also married there before being a Dreams TA specialist. She may be able to shed some light on that.

The buffet was great! I am Mexican and wanted good Mexican food along with items our American guests would be comfortable with as well. Definitely the way to go for options.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
