I don't really think that there is an approved list of vendors. You just have to ask! They seem to change their rules all of the time!

Just an off note: Girls that are getting married a year+... RELAX!!! I know that it is exciting and you want to start planning but if you're stressing out about it already, you are never going to make it all the way to your wedding day without a heart attack!! I was exactly the same way when I first started too but after getting super frustrated numerous times, I just had to trust the fact that they do this every day and everything will be fine. Dreams will take a week+ to return emails but will eventually get back to you! Everything will work out and be perfect! Don't worry!! pinkie.gif

i would only pay the deposit now, and keep your money you're saving in whichever kind of account you can find that yields the highest interest (we have ours in an ING direct acct. might as well make a few bucks on your savings ... heck you might be able to afford one more flower, between what dreams charges for stuff and how low the interest on savings is these days! LMAO!

seriously, you definitely don't want to charge it all now unless you've got a 0% interest kinda deal.

Yes, this is all good advice. I don't think we're going to make too much in interest over 3 months that it is worth the risk of keeping it 'accessible'. I think we will do what Angela says and give to my FI's mom to hang on to. I do want them bending over backwards and not slacking!!! Plus I just have to keep in mind that it right after hurricane season (NOT trying to freak any one out who's wedding is coming right up!) but you just do have to play it safe. We've just been pretty bad about saving so far and we need to kick it in to high gear!

As for Ash0628, you're not crazy! It is nerve wracking until you get the date set. With all the info on here though, it is pretty much a breeze after that and you just have to keep DMarie's advice in mind-- remember why we all chose to have a DW-- waaayyyyy less stress!!

And Jodey-- I think at 9:00 you should switch to the iPOD docking station (well, until you have to-- Jill went longer and a few others have mentioned that as well with no extra charges/problems). They can't kick you out of there-- they can just stop having a wait staff and take away the sound equipment if you don't pay for longer. But there is a bar right there!

Actually, my deposit was due back in May. I sent the first CC approval letter and realized they did not take Discover. I then sent my another CC approval letter and my bank does not allow international purchases on my debit card. So here I am 2 months later and have still not paid my deposit. Not on purpose just have slipped my mind (until now..LOL). She has not emailed me to request my deposit so I do not think they are super worried about it. I will send soon.

As for my room, I booked the 1 bedroom master suite. wanted something bigger for the wedding day and did not want to switch rooms.

Certainly the right attitude. I feel the same way. As long as I take care of everything I can on my end then the rest will just HAVE to work itself out when we get there!

Just smile and say "yes" and "I do" LOL!

i think the buffett is better. reason being the reception does not get cut short because of a lengthy dinner. My people are going to be there to celebrate and party not to eat!!! LOL! They are going to be eating so much the whole time they are at the resort!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
