I had requested from Claudia a copy of the ceremony that they read so I would know if we wanted to use there's or write our own. I thought some of you girls who are getting married at Dreams Cancun would like to read it. Here it is:

 

In this special occasion you should recall to moments when you first met and all the events that made you come to this place at this time… you are here today to affirm your love and devotion one to another. We are gathered here to perform your civil marriage under the Mexican law, from now and you will have rights but also obligations before it. You are given a great step in your personal, family and social life, as of today you shall form a new family.

You are entering into a union that is the closest and intimate one; it is the most precious relationship between two people.

 

Contracting marriage is not only the result of a signature on a document, it does start with it, but it shall not be seen as a mere requisite. a couple thoughts on that:

 

the grammar is awful, but i guess that's to be expected since english is their 2nd language.

 

"contracting marriage" sounds like you're getting some kind of disease!

 

where is the exchange of vows? that's the actual important part!

 

overall, for a generic civil ceremony, it's not too bad.

 

did you happen to find out if you are able to edit or add things to it like readings, sand ceremony, el lazo, etc.?

after they confirm that you date is set and available then do they send you the contract or what is the next step gaby said she had the date for me but I want to make sure

If I remember correctly you may need to decide basic things like time, and locations, then they will send you a contract to sign. The rest either gets decided as time goes by or when you get there.

YEEEAAH! Claudia finally sent me the marriage contract today...too bad it isn't correct and the deposit is due Aug 30th lol. wtf?

You will get a Q&A document to fill out w a bunch of option on it. once you send that back to Gaby she will create a contract and email it to you. i submitted mine yesterday and i already received my contract this morning. i was so SHOCKED but SUPER excited!!

Just a note to all of you with contracts... ADD them up yourself!!! I don't think that they do it on purpose but I have had her send me 2 revised contracts with the incorrect amounts (one time it was like $3,000 and I almost peed myself). Double check with a calculator because they don't use the formulas in excel!

Oh and here is a tip for you guys that have deposits that are more than you can afford right now. Change the number of guests to like 10 or 20 people so the price is lower and then you can always up it later. I know that it's kinda shady but I didn't have $$ at the time that my deposit was due so I didn't really have a choice.
